Not currently, no. We may, however, be open to connecting to Ensign. Looking at their platform, however, I'm not sure what you would want TradeBolt to do. They have studies you can insert on charts, but it doesn't look like those studies send orders, per se... Do you want TradeBolt to send a market order when Ensign draws a particular symbol on the chart? Or am I misinterpreting what Ensign does? TradeBolt
Ensign can render buy and sell decision via indicators/ logic. You can show them a variety of different ways. You can do some rough testing but nothing heavy. I was just curious because the TradeBolt website says it can work with almost every software. I know some traders are running autmated stuff off of Ensign into brokers. I will find out how.
When we say we can work with almost any software that's true - our API can be called from any program that uses a programming language to generate strategies. We can also ride on the existing functionality of some programs that do not use a programming language but that do generate signals. Adding this functionality to Ensign may be possible, as they do not seem to have a strategy programming language per se. My question is really what information Ensign provides (for instance I didn't see any way in their tutorial of associating a price with an order, which would be necessary for stops or limits), and what you would like to see TradeBolt do with it. Are you currently an Ensign user, or are you just shopping around for a platform? TradeBolt
I am a current Ensign user and use some of platforms. I have used everything out there. Ensign does have a prgramming language. You would have to contact the owner to get the info you want. I am not a programmer per se. I had mine done for me. But I love Ensign much better than the more expensive programs that I have used.
Strange. I can't find reference to Ensign's strategy language anywhere on Ensign's website. Are we talking about the same Ensign? (Ensign Software dot com) What programming language do they use? TradeBolt
Thanks. Looking at the ESPL documentation, it looks as if you can use TradeBolt with Ensign if you're willing to do the work (or pay someone to do it). The trick is taking advantage of their ability to call a DLL file. If you go to this website: http://www.ensignsoftware.com/espldoc/espl.htm and click on ESPL Statements and Functions in the left-hand link list, then click on DLL, you will find their documentation on how this is done through their platform. Our documentation on how our DLL works is here: http://www.tradebolt.com/Help_Files/UL_Help_Home.php One thing I notice is that the DLL would have to be customized to use their parameter format, which probably means you would have to have a wrapper DLL written that would take calls from ESPL and convert them to TradeBolt's DLL calls.
