I just finished reading Gary Smith How I trade for a Living. He started trading w/index futures. Many on ET trade the CL. What is your experience tell you about which is more liquid, profitable, and or any other thoughts on it. Everyone I've read about seems to have had their 1st investment in futures wiped out. Going from equities to futures is going to be a challenge. I have read and am still reading every book on it I can find. But so many are 3,5,10 yrs old. What was your experience in starting with them. [I prefer to not re-invent the wheel] f.y.i. I'm in my mid 30's and am supporting my family with my income from trading. I would like to spend more time with them. Whether that is trading less hours per day or increasing my profits so i can take more time off.
