I’m not sure what was exactly wrong, but every time the price of the asset should go in a certain direction because of the economic data, it wouldn’t go that way. For example inflation rate, it seems to me, should weaken the overall economy, and that should affect the same way on the national indices. But that’s not always the case.
That was my point earlier in the discussion! Those things are not that interconnected. You need to see a bigger economic picture to make the right assumptions. On top of that, one particular economic cycle is totally different from others.
I guess you're right. It’s a matter of experience and understanding of the global economy also. What we see at the moment is the perfect confirmation of your statement. Hence why fundamental is out of reach for me, at least right now. Maybe later when I will be more knowledgeable enough to do so.
does anybody know if trade.com DMA account can be utilized for algo trading? Maybe this question was brought up earlier, but I didn’t find anything related to it.
I’m not sure about that. Since Trade.com DMA trading is performed via Interactive brokers trading platform it could be complicated to do so.
Why is it so? What is wrong with the platform of Interactive brokers? I heard that it’s a quite reliable broker with lots of features. I assume that algorithmic trading has to be one of them.
Oh it definitely is. But as far as I remember, Interactive brokers use their own proprietary platform. And my experience tells me that custom platforms are not very good with trading bots. At least with the implementation of the standard expert advisors certainly. What trading bots are you using?
Oh, I see. Right now I’m more concentrated on expert advisors for the most part. Specifically for MT5. They are just easier to create and many brokers have MT5 as their main trading platform too.
Why bother with DMA for algo trading? Just make a standard CFD account and enjoy. There is a MT5 available. Plus, Trade.com has no restriction at all, when it comes to applying trading robots.
It’s simple. Because you can open a CFD account with MT5 as a trading platform, literally everywhere. On the other hand DMA accounts are quite rare. Execution and pricing on such accounts are more advantageous for algo trading. Hence why I’m asking.
