Could someone help me on how to get an order executed at the opening price of an AMEX ETF like EWW or ILF ?
I heard about the poening cross - would that be a solution ?

  2. MOO order, you should have price very close to open price

Thank you, but who should I route the order to, as there is no NYSE specialist ?

Did they promote The AMEX specialists to cashiers at SYMS?

Just route it to the AMEX MOO as the OP suggested.

I don't trade etfs much, but so far I've found for IB that routing SMART + MOO gets executed on the opening cross of the primary exchange. The primary exchange is not AMEX for all ETFs.

  6. So what is the primary exchange for all ETFs?

There isn't a primary exchange for all etfs. They are just like stocks. Some are listed on the NYSE, AMEX, NASDAQ, ARCA, etc.

  8. I was under the impression that most ETF's primary exchange is the Amex. Search for any ETF on yahoo finance and see what exchange it populates. Yes the Amex is the most shady of the big 3, but its also the cheapest.
