The problem with Interactivebrokers' HK Server is it reboots at ET 3:45pm, just before the North American markets close. I just don't understand why Interactivebrokers cannot wait for a few more minutes, until 4:15pm, when the ES finishes trading. If you set up multiple accounts, then you will need double the money to daytrade.
True you would need to keep more $ at IB, but it is worth it since you get the best execution for your products. I do not think it is a good idea to trade HSI from us server or ES from hk server. There will be latency.
Your observation is correct, BB works very well on HSI. The Stochcastic is a supplementary tool. A good trader does not rely on indicators, he can read price. Lessor mortals enlist the help of indicators. In hindsight, it is very easy to look at a chart and pick out the perfect entry points. But in real life, when the price reached the 20MA line, you will ask yourself: Is the market going to return to the direction of the 20MA? or will it continue on to +2Dev? or even beyond? When the price is at 20MA, take a look at the Stochcastic. What do you see?
ET and others - anyone know where I can browse some free charts of the HSI? Not concerned how delayed they are, just want to take a look. Thanks!
They must be anticipating something big and usual to happen. Maybe an announcement from the Chinese Government during the Chinese New Year holiday?
I'm having difficulty pulling up the HSI using NT and Zen-Fire through Mirus. Can someone spell it out for me? I select the HSI, expiry 03-08 and the HKFE exchange but no data comes down.
