Tough Month?

  1. This is an open forum, perhaps you could contribute something meanful on the subject of trading!

  2. Hello:

May will be our best month in 3 years. I attribute our good luck to a hell of a lot of hard work, continuous research, and the fact that I hired traders who are smarter than I am.

    Good luck tomorrow

  4. It's a fact, stop denying it. The more interesting question you should ask yourself is where would your A$$ would be had you started trading 2 years ago instead of 5. Delivering pizzas is my guess. Do us all a favor and stop bragging till you figure that out.

Mr. simpleton, the world of opportunity expands way way beyond the specialists of NYSE. It even goes beyond US equity markets, wow imagine that. Ever wonder where the real big day traders went in the past few years?

  5. The past is in the past, you will never get it back. Stop whining about what you can't control and worry about what you can control and that is how you trade this market. There is alot of money to be made today, Many traders are doing absolutely fantastic, perhaps you should take a page or two from their playbook. There are many ways to skin a cat, and many ways to make money trading,

As for other markets, I am already one step ahead on that one as well. I am testing the waters on futures, mainly systems, but will also explore the possiblity of "trading" them, as the tax advantages offered by futures would be a tremendous help at tax time. I would love to be able to trade equites on some of the foreign markets, but have not found a good way to do this, do you have any ideas on this?

  7. Hi Lefty,

    Great month, congratulations.

I am shocked that May was anyone's best month in three years. Maybe it was you guys who were running GOOG north the whole month. :D

So why haven't you joined them? All you do is complain about the nyse and all the evil games being played there, yet you come back every day for more. Rather than cry about all the money being made in other markets, why not go where the money's being made? Is someone holding a gun to your head saying you can only trade listed in one particular prop office?

BTW, May was my best month of the year.

  10. OK, I have a moment here. Regarding your comment. Let me say that all it takes to get in on these moves is a little imagination and some risk management. Specifically, you have to do the research that uncovers the opportunity, then you have to decide whether to get in with size or to just stick your toe in. Personally I favor sticking the toe in the water. Even though you don't get the most bang for your buck, you still participate in the move when it occurs.

We have a trader who runs GOOG. We see that this issue shows simularities to QCOM a few years back (it went to $1000 remember?). You just have to keep in mind, that it all has to come to an end eventually, and when people say "its different this time". PLEASE, remember that its never different this time.

On my side, I work in futures, trading the open and reports with discretion. As you may know from my past posts, I look for 10 ES points as a daily target. I try to get 2 pt wins. Today because of the report, I am long from 1194.25. I am looking for a test of 1206 and will be out below 1202.

    Good luck,
    Lefty
