I checked a few charts most I used to trade I'm either remembering the ticker wrong or there gone :( can't find any good examples will try again later.

I used to chart the sector aswell, so Index - if Bullish - Look for Bullish Sectors then play stocks long in those sectors, vice versa ( if you've got Margin ) ofcourse in Bearish markets.

Most of the market just gets pulled around by day to day news, few bad bits of news, drags the market down, get in on slowing down then they'll spin the next bad news as good news if need be to prop it up again.

Most of the moves used to happen over night.

Used to be $2000 at Ameritrade min account opening balance there still around, DATEK I used sadly went!

  3. Buy the latest Market Wizards book on audio. Go for long walks and listen to it over and over and over again. This will provide you with your first lesson in what it takes to be a successful trader. It's harder than you can possibly imagine to be a successful trader in the long run. Be sure you understand what you are asking of yourself. Most traders who claim to be successful are all talk. You can't fact check their claims because they do not provide audited returns.
