    Hello.

I am wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a total market short ETF.

Something similar to QID except for total market.

Why not just short VTI you ask? because this is for an IRA account.

Also, a powershort with double percentage performance would be ideal.

Anyone? I have searched to no avail.

    Thank you.

  2. One thing you could do is find some % numbers of the style composition of the VTI. How much capital is attributed to large cap, how much to mid/small cap.

You could then buy the respective percentages in the 2xinverse SP500 (large cap) "SDS" and 2xinverse SPMidCap "MZZ".

This will only be an approximation of the VTI, should be good enough though.

SDS, MZZ, QID and DXD are the only proshares available now. There are 66 possible new ones due out sometime in 2007 if approved.

    Thanks for the reply.

It is kind of silly, but I was trying to save the commission of buying the dow, s&p, and daq shorts- hoping to buy the comensurate of all three in one fell swoop.

  5. You can look at direxion funds

    DXDSX DIREXION FDS DEVELOPED MARKETS
DXDDX DIREXION FDS DOLLAR BEAR 2 5 X
    DXESX DIREXION FDS EMERGING MARKETS
DXTSX DIREXION FDS TOTAL MARKET BEAR
DSQSX DIREXION FDS NASDAQ 100 BEAR 2
    DXSSX DIREXION FDS S P 500 BEAR 2 5X
DXRSX DIREXION FDS SMALL CAP BEAR 2

    BRPIX BEAR PROFUND INVESTOR CLASS
    BRPSX BEAR PROFUND SERVICE
    BEARX PRUDENT BEAR FUND
PBRCX PRUDENT BEAR FUND CLASS C SHARE

This should help if you want total market and works for an IRA account......You will pay for the performance in these mutual funds, but if your right about a correction this is the only way to go for an IRA account........SDS, MZZ, QID as well
