  1. Statistically speaking, there are various types of lucky people that inhabit this planet, within a multitude of categories.

  2. I agree with that too. Now for the segment of former market participants here who have since come to believe that successful trading is impossible, what compels them to return here and post that same message incessantly?

If you & I believed it was impossible to catch a 30 pound largemouth bass anywhere in the world, we might be right. We might be wrong too, but we believe we are right. With that in mind, would you consider it rational behavior to haunt fishing message board forums for years on end, constantly repeating that bass fishermen trying for a 30lb fish lose, they just lose?

How can you explain the behavior of each and every naysayer who posts such things as archived in many recent threads? This one is a fraud, that one is a fraud, 0 out of 100 prescreened traders failed because nobody succeeds. OK, great. The readers here are convinced y'all disbelieve. Now why are you still compelled to come here?

What is in it for you? What's the personal pay back for spending endless hours of precious time preaching failure?

  3. What the hell does that have to do with this conversation? If one success out of countless failures exists in this profession, why do those who are convinced success is impossible keep wasting life's precious time preaching the negative to complete, random strangers here?

  4. Whoever stated that success within the world of financial market speculation would be easily accomplished?

  5. Precisely, extremes can often counteract each other.

  6. whoever stated finding bigfoot would be easily accomplished?

now what does either of those questions have to do with this conversation? I'm curious as all hell what the psychological driving force is behind the persistent posters of failure and doom. That is the question, nothing else. Why do people purposely waste their time trying to affirm the negative of something they don't believe in? What is the personal reward to them for such behaviors?

  8. I hope you are not inferring that I preach trading is impossible., AP. Very much the opposite. I simply try to counter those who continuously mislead ( without any evidence at all, even when requested) with ridiculous claims of success. I respect everyone who try's the markets except the cranks and charlatans. Success is possible, just not in the ways most charlatans preach. Look at Tim Sykes-- he found a real edge, he exploited that edge and made verified millions from it. He is the real deal yet he was vilified on this site----- I was just at his Miami mansion. It was like a real life Entourage series. The guy lives large and can back up his words 100% yet the phonies hate him??? What's up with this. Jealousy must suck.

I was loved on this site for years, untill I started being mentored by Vic Niederhoffer and came to conclude 98%of charts and TA are pure garbage. I tried to help others with what I learned but it was useless back then. Finally some are starting to see the light.

PS-- we should get together for some monster carp fishing in Long Sault st Lawrence river this summer!

Experienced swing traders rarely have losing quarters.

Experienced trend-following day traders rarely have losing weeks.

Experienced scalpers rarely have losing days.

There's the Trader Ed guy who's willing to trade in front of you all day to demonstrate this, so if you want to see it with your own eyes instead of taking the time to apply a positive expectancy price action setup (trend line breakout pullback, for example) to a slew of charts to test it and see that it's possible to have no losing days as a scalper, go watch him trade.
