  1. combine update - blown up again, can't get a feel for my normal markets at the moment. only managed to make a few ticks in my main account last week and down small this week. I will try another rest when i feel conditions are better. GL.

    Futures platform required that:
    1. Can be set to Flatten ALL positions at a predefined time.
    2. Is server connected so that TPs & SLs will trigger & one cancel all (OCO) function works EVEN when the PLATFORM is disconnected from the internet.
    3. Is compatible with TST.

I have Ninja Trader at present, but Ninja is a "Simulated" platform & relies on internet connection to work. Loss of connection for any reason & TPs & SLs are not triggered.
Ninja is connected to Rithmic R/trader so this is covered to a certain degree. However if I have Ninja set to flatten all positions at 3pm CT this will not happen if the internet is down at the time. There is NO setting in Rithmic R/Trader for this.

Even MT4 doesn't rely on the internet connection to manage your trades.
I can take the trades directly on R/Trader but it has no facility for closing all trades of at a predefined time.

"I want to make the money now, I want to make lots of money now". These are the quotes that get me into trouble. They are the foundation of me not taking profit when the signal goes against me, when no clear signal arises but I can go in anyway. Each of these and other mistakes are not part of my system.

Hey Xela. Thanks for the "like" But Why?? There is nothing to like about this post. In fact it is a condemnation of TST.!!!
    TST have this "RULE"
Only trade permitted products, during the permitted times
This means, should you have an internet failure for any reason ( power cut, internet down, computer shut down etc etc) at the time your trades are preset to cancell all & flatten, you are automatically in violation of this rule & have to pay again to reset your combine. "The old hampster wheel syndrome being arbitrarily enforced.
Even if you happen to be in front of your computer at the given time, there is nothing you can do about it. This "rule" benefits TST & TST alone. How many hundreds of combine & funded traders have been affected by this rule. And how many hundreds are goint to be in the future.
Can't see any sense in being a part of this scam.
TSTs shut off time is 3.15 CT. The market closes at 4pm CT. "WTF"

I will look into a VPS solution, but not sure how this will work as the trades are held on the Ninja platform which is the same with most futures platforms. Maybe you can shed some light on this.?

T4 stops are server based so loss of internet has no effect. Regardless if you trade you should always have a back up internet provider. I run cable, DSL and AT&T lte. A second ISP is cheap insurance.

  10. I think T4 is one of the better platforms offered by TST (my personal opinion, of course), for this very reason of the orders being on the server. You can use the auto OCO feature if you're stepping away (or if the computer shuts down due to a power outage, for example), and the order would still trigger. The only caveat is you still have to manually close out the trade if the price didn't hit the OCO before the close of session. I don't recall if T4 had a "preset to cancel" or "market on close" feature.
