Can't speak for the guy, but note that this is the only active thread about TST right now; it naturally comes up in the most recent results, which is the default sort order. I just entered "topstep" in the search box and got: http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?search/2908541/&q=topstep&o=date

Fair enough, but given that this thread is somewhat controversial, it makes sense someone might be a closet TST trader without wanting to compromise their other posting history. So we will just have to go by the quality of his answers. :)

I am a new member. Trying to get a feel for what the questions and concerns are about topstep. I am a full time Head Chef, 80 hours a week, especially during this holiday season. I have managed to learn trading and become a funded Topstep Trader with my little free time. I've started a blog to show people my story, the admins have not allowed me to link to it just yet. I'm looking for feedback and the opportunity to help people grow.
I want to help people grow profitable as traders without risking their current jobs.
I haven't transitioned completely yet, but that is the reason for the blog. So others can see my mistakes and not make them themselves.
I am intermediate in my experience at best.
I won't post p&l just yet. Waiting until the end of January to share with all of my readers month to month. If you would like to visit the site pm me. Otherwise I'll participate here until I can gain some of your confidence and the admins.

Thanks for the reply. There isn't much to comment on yet so I will just follow along here and see where things go.

Hi WMorin, I have been following the new funded trader interviews posted on TST's youtube channel. I remembered coming across an interview where a full time chef somehow managed to find the time to be become a funded trader. Could have been your interview because the things you mentioned here were very similar to what was discussed during the interview.

Hi WMorin, was looking through my notes for the new trader interviews. Are you the one that trades the 30 year bond, did the one and only combine and passed it the first time? If you are the one, your interview was pretty inspirational.

That is exactly me. Wow, you guys are thorough. It really brings a smile to my face with the good comments here.
I am met with a lot of resistance when I let some of my friends and family know what I am trying to do. I have a goal in mind for myself and my family. I'm working very hard to reach that goal. Honestly ubo you just made my day.

A few things have happened since then. At the moment I am getting ready for a big day at work today. So I will check back tonight and update you all on my progress if you are interested.

For the sake of my current job I am not to specific on where I work, but here is a clue.

I plan to shake hands and meet some people at a 150 person event my restaurant will be taking care of this Sunday. The event is called Traders4aCase. Do some googling, I'm sure you guys will figure it out.

Hey Chief, I mean Chef, let me give you an oldtimer's advice:

Chances are, you are making way more money as a cook, than you would make as a trader. Specially if you work as hard as you say and they pay you for it, you should give up this daytrader gig dream.

Trust me, stick to what you know and get paid for, that is way safer, than pursuing the DREAM. Not to mention free food! Last time I checked, TST wasn't kicking in free lunch and such. :)

That being said, I am curious what do you trade and how you find the time during a double fulltime job to make trades???

    Why?

I did. And made my first post in this forum in this thread - and I have no connection with TST at all and have never even done a Combine.

This is the top-listed and most prominent thread in the "Prop Firms" folder, isn't it, Stewie? So it's naturally the first one that anyone interested in prop firms/funding sees, when they've just joined the forum. I think that makes it "highly likely", not "highly unlikely"?

    Just my perspective ...
