  1. Ha.. Sorry guys I have been busy.

We will be doing an "Elite Trader Group Combine" soon but I do not have a date or what they will be discounting it. So for that I will keep you posted.

It sounds like they want to shoot for it to start mid-November.

  5. WTF? Does howie mandel compete on Americas got talent? Does trump act like an apprentice, just for fun? Seriously man, that's a bizarre question.

He doesn't, but he could, because he actually has talent...

I think what PA was trying to say was, that it would be nice to see if TST's mentors can pass the Combine...

  7. Marketsurfer, I think it is great that Michael is considering holding the “Elite Trader Group Combine”. I appreciate it. I think it will be fun, and I think a lot of people might sign up. However, whatever the overall result is for Elite Trader Group Combine, I hope that people would not use it to judge the quality of this board, but that is something out of our control. With Michael joining in the game, it would give everyone a perspective of what the benchmark should be, which I think would be fair, and might get more people interested in signing up for the Combine.

Of course, it is Michael’s business, and he could have set the Combine objective harder to achieve to pick out traders who are better than himself to manage someone else's money. So, whether or not Michael pass the Combine would not matter. It is simply for fun, if he decided to play along with us.

PS: No, we are not like some of the clowns in The Apprentice or Americas Got Talents, but I have to admit they are entertaining to watch.

  8. Pension- Thank you for the offer but we are trade scouts. We scout for traders that have talent. We put a lot of work into this. As scouts we do not get into mentoring or teaching. We do provide feedback at the completion of a Combine. We try and stay away from that by having educators and mentors wrapped around our Combine (which we are partnering up with many more solid trading coaches and educators in the coming months). We have an equity partner that we are responsible for putting the best talent on the accounts. This is our only focus.

So to put it straight we will be participating in the ET Group Combine but more as spectators in the bleachers taking notes and watching while the players are out on the field.

  9. I was fairly close to entering the Combine about a year ago but decided against it due to uncertainty surrounding the legitimacy of the operation. Those concerns have been somewhat alleviated with this thread, though I would be interested to see how TST and PTP manage themselves for a little longer before revisiting.

My background is that I have been a career finance guy who moved into institutional trading and then to proprietary trading (the intent all along but wanted to gain a broad base of market experience). The prop firm I was with had its share of good and bad, but the people were outstanding and I learned quite a bit. I was just not able to make enough in a high frequency, low latency environment (I'm more of a multiple timeframe technical trader but that was not their model). I've since embarked on a recapitalization push with the intent on making what I wouldn't call a comeback, and I strongly hope TST and PTP are still operating under a comparable model at that time.
