1 loser, 1 winner, 1 open trade. All trade entries were perfectly fine. Poor management of the winning trade though. May have been trading a bit scared on that one. $350 on the winner, $200 on the loser. b/e or better on this last trade. Commission roughly $20, 5 total lots.
That TopStep ? Sim account ? or Real account ?? -$75* here I think today, can't get a break, so better than me * Real
Topstep, I'm not trading my real account for this 10 day anymore. wanted to focus a bit. I find this top step sim account to be just as difficult than trading my real account to be honest. Probably has to due with the way I'm approaching it. Hopefully I can settle down and get a little more comfortable.
Results for day one and two of my restarted combine. Did not manage the first winning trade of the day well, would have been quite a good one, over $1k. These are the trades I need to exploit, it tends to be where all of my gains come from. Very subpar numbers so far when I look back to last weeks failed combine. Numbers are in the green, barely. It's just that some of the trading has been rather sloppy. I need to get better at identifying What type of day I'm likely getting myself in to. I guess it comes with time, and I haven't been at this long. The read on this morning was good. Days following trend days tend to tack on, and there were some good long set ups. My new personal goal over the rest of this combine is to reduce some sloppiness, and respect my trim and trail levels. I'm also noticing a trend where I don't trade that great on Mondays and Fridays, even in my regular account. This is something I'd like to monitor a bit more closely.
Figured I'd attach the failed combine from last week as well. The complete mental collapse of hitting my daily loss limit on Friday. Was going pretty well up until that point.
I try not to trade Fridays especially after a good week, most of my big account hits are on a Friday, i used to not want to take a loss on a Friday then dig myself into a hole. Mondays are generally slow and choppy, which may not suite, Fridays trendy.
Yes, have to adjust how I approach Friday's and Monday's. Give it one or two shots, and pack my bags if it isn't working. I've noticed in my regular trading often I've caught swings on Tuesday's and Thursday's. The days I actually trade Friday's, I performed poorly. Often I still had the swing entering Friday with a cushion. Then I spend a lot of Monday's just trying to re enter. So now that this isn't about swinging a runner, I need to adjust.
From just a cursory overview, it seems you have a decent "average win duration" in the combine, where on October 28th you were able to hold 1 lot of ES for 10 points, which took almost an hour and a half. If you've reviewed many of the combine stats from other traders, you will rarely find stats with long average hold times for winning trades. The combine is an exercise in introspection. Identify your weaknesses and improve upon your strengths. If you can find those ES trades where it trends and you can hold for bigger targets, while reducing your number of trades on the choppy days, then your odds of passing will greatly improve. Just my 2 cents.
