Man o man. This might be the best thing that could have possibly happened to you. Don't give up. Prove to yourself you can recover and possibly turn it into a positive result. It is not a game. The real money part was your FEE. So now it is an investment. So treat the balance you have as REAL money and work it like it is your money. You will learn more about yourself as well ( I am told). Wished everybody used the 14 day free trial to iron out the chinks with the platform, which is "warped" in comparison to the one I use, before entering the combine. I made a fat finger mistake without realizing it,because I shut it down with working orders ( didn't check the entries) to focus on my own account. When I reopened ,I got the surprise and it was a real loser. Fooled around with it then; not doing what I supposed to and got blasted behind the left ear and given a stern reminder that it is not a play thing. I got the message and ruled off the day and will be back to normal on Monday. So good luck FCX.
Very good effort FCXoptions. As illustrated, the trader has formidable obstacles. To make the grade one must not only having a good proven profitable trading plan but... computers, modems, platform, brokers, data must be reliable. And...no distractions, no stress, good environment, cash, discipline, experience, the time available to trade and make no errors.... The list goes on. Anyhow, well done.
+1 They should use it at least for 3 days, or until they are comfortable with it so they don't make rookie mistakes with the platform. At least 3 posters got big loses here, because they were unfamiliar with it or didn't check the entries... What is even more, one can use that 14 days as a pre-Combine test and try to pass it using the same parameters. That way it is free and gives a good practice before the real thing....
That is what I am doing until my little screw up on Friday. Was doing well and so I am going to 'eliminate' the balance from Friday as if it didn't happen and get back on track to see it it will be a good result or not. Not easy to have your head in two different places at the same time so the 'trial' has to be the lesser priority.
Good point. The unfortunate drawback of the T-4 during the trial period is you cannot view your stats beyond one session. For that one has to get the separate practice account. However, one can also get a sim account on Ninja for 30 days to test out that platform before deciding to pay the license fee. Either way, you can get used to the platforms before actually starting the combine.
Did about 20-30 minutes of trading before leaving the office this morning. Came out with a $320 profit so a little bit of a comeback. I missed everything from 7-830 I got started late but still happy with the little bit I did. I have A LOT of work to do though. I might wait a couple months till exams and everything are done at school and I am much more comfortable with CL then give it another shot. I have 4 days left of the combine though for now, so I am going to attempt to make the best of them and learn as much as I can.
OK, was this all you or did my Chop/Range lesson help a little? Feel free to make yourself look good, I can take it. I've already resigned myself to the fact that you're voting for Stewart despite my desperate attempt to convert you to Colbert Great work for such limited time frame. It appears you're a natural range scalper. Stay away from those trend days!
NoDoji-- For your style of chart trading, would the ability to place orders directly onto the chart make sense to you? Thank you, Surf
