Top10Stock Journal

  1. I decide to start a journal on Elite Trader. This is a good place to record all my tradings.

I just trade stocks and all the operations are long operation, that means buy a stock then sell it.

I choose stocks from fundamentals and have a few screeners. The back testing of these screeners have > 60% annual return.

I buy stocks on every Monday and the stock number in my portfolio is 10.

I will also give an easy-read performance summary here to let you know how much P/L year to date.

  2. This week's stock in my 10 stock portfolio

  3. do you replace your whole portfolio every monday, ie, sell everything from last week at that time?

  4. I don't sell everything, because some of the stock will still on the list for the next week. Normally, I need to replace 3-5 of them. So I did it on every Monday morning.

Will you be posting details your general method and your stock selection method(s) and answering questions about it or just stock lists and results of paper trading?

  7. I have no objection to what the original poster is doing, but in the interest of full disclosure, his web site is:

    http://top10stock.com/

It's a pay site with a trial period.

  8. It's interesting my website is listed here. Although I want it to be a paid service, but I am considering change it to a free service. So feel free to visit it, before I change it. You can register a free account and visit all the information there. I don't want to promote my website here in anyway, just want to have a journal here and if some one feel it is useful, then i will be happy.

I'd like to say back testing performance doesn't means I will get the same performance in the future. So maybe better, maybe worse. But the method is not for a day-trader.

Again, the back testing performance is about 60% annual return, I am satisfied with the result coz it beats a lot to the mutual fund. I run the real thing for about 2 months and I am also satisfied with the real result.

Below is some of the rules, but not all. If u have questions or suggestions, feel free to write here. Acutally, I am also testing several other screener. I will put it here.

    the rules
    1) average broker rating < 2
    2) zacks rank <=2, go to zacks.com for detail
    3) current price <=15
    4) average volume > 50000
    5) market capital > 100 million
    6) price/sales , bottom 10. Actually, I don't know why this performs so well, but it just works, so if you know why, please post it here.

by the way, zacks.com have a free screener, the zacks rank is updated every monday. So that's why i buy the sell the stock on Monday.
