PS: This is also very true. I'm not sure why they do it, perhaps they are trying to entice good traders or perhaps it's a casino style advertising.
K Nooby, here it comes. Here is the ultimate question from the perspective of a prop firm... How does this...(Just read that journal update from Sep 17th...) https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/and-they-have-a-plan-live.306838/page-37#post-5459163 To this... https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/and-they-have-a-plan-live.306838/page-44#post-5473412 Between entry and current date, and everything in between, cause the prop firm to panic and lose money? Dude, there is no change in their risk! So why would they cancel the account? There is no REASON to! These prop firms do not understand risk control with the BS of levering up! NO! You do NOT allow lever-up, ever, until they are in a safe threshold. You want to lever up to two futures? Fine. Triple you account balance. Or whatever.
Every market participant has their own risk tolerance... You could start a firm that teaches people properly...
I am not ready to teach yet, because I am still doing. ;-) This discussion pissed me off, time for some good music to explain why they all suck.
That's why I got off the forums. But today, I feel no reaction to our conversation. I think I have turned the corner on emotions.
Ahh shit, I just noticed this is @Secret Sauce journal, I forgot. Sorry sir, pardon. We sometimes get lost in thread tirades. Back to your regularly-scheduled journal posts? teehee? Here, I leave behind some fun music with a pretty girl? *runs out of room and slams door.*
It's all good. You sir and @nooby_mcnoob do both have good points. It's way better to have discourse than none at all I guess. I just shaved $1300 off of my losses today. Just waiting for TopStep's system to update for me to be able to post screens.
I AM guilty of this. To this day, though not as often as before, I still daydream of trading more than 20 contracts at a time and I just count the winnings as price goes in my direction. I just realized that I even call it winnings. Jeez. I mean if the casinos can advertise in very a effective way...
