1. I am expecting more downside. We might have a bounce here today.

    Let us not get adventurous. I will be waiting to get long.

    Will have a week-end post later this evening.

    Cheers!

    Haakon

    I got out of UPRO just before I went on vacation (29/4) with a small loss (as expected really). Got into SPXU today at 32 and could have made 10% intraday if i were a swing trader, but I`m not :) So I`ll keep this until the Greece problems are secured. Found out my broker don`t support stops on US orders (biggest broker in Norway, but setting myself up somewhere else), so I couldn`t enter SPXU before vacation.

    I`ll probably be a regular investics. Getting checks on my theories are very important.

  3. Market View for Week 03.May.2010 to 07.May.2010

    One of the statistics I like to compute is as follows:

I monitor the top 3000 stocks by liquidity( not market cap)

On a daily basis I calculate the number of the stocks from the above set that closed above the 40EMA.

    Here are the numbers for this past week:

    Fri, 07.May: 11%
    Thu, 06.May: 18%
    Wed, 05.May: 39%
    Tue, 04.May: 50%
    Mon, 03.May: 72%

    I am beginning to feel very bullish here. These are some of the lowest numbers I have seen since I have been computing these stats.

    We also witnessed the two largest volumes days in the last two days over 52 weeks. I estimate close to $300 Billion to have exited the market in the last four trading days. We need to see selling exhaustion and buyers stepping in to go long. I usually make my decision in the last 15 minutes of trading.

    For example I chose not to go long today as the markets closed in the bottom half of its daily trading range.

    Have a Fantastic week-end! I have a nice picnic planned out.

    INVESTs;
    Well, i like to consider %% & %%%,as you hint,
    & age/much data,
    & volume/liquidity, so QQQQ,SPY,;
    USO... are good. DIA is a good trend measure,but maybe not top trender.....

    Wisdom is profitable to direct

    You are welcome.

    Let's talk about the indicators for the various EFTs and their underlyings, distinguishing between daily and intra day timeframes.
    A vital point imho.

    Not necessarily a Sunday question. :p
