Investics, When most of the market is down today, why did you make a decision to buy TYH now? Is this a contrarian play, to go against the market direction? You could've gotten in to TYP, if you want to go with the trend?
Just wanted to disclose that I bought some QID couple of days ago. We will see what happens when the job report comes tomorrow. May be we will see some serious downside.
gk_investor I am getting a sense, that the market is nearing selling exhaustion. I will be away from my computer tomorrow. Will wait for a few days before I exit if this goes against me.
I made my first buys of the year yesterday 04.Feb.2010 in: TYH, see previous posts QLD MidCap-Growth, for my retirement account similar to IWP Here are my reasons, why: I had a plan, and I had to stick to it. Largest Drop in S&P-500 since April, 2009. I will be away from my computer Fri and Mon, thus cannot baby sit. I prefer entering near market close. I have been in cash since De, 2009, thus I do have a higher appetite for risk as of now. I have tight stops set and will exit if this turns against me. As of last evening I am invested 33% of my portfolio, will add on the longer side. Good Luck!!

I did see the selling exhaustion I was looking for. Largest Drop (-4) in S&P-500 since April, 2009. I have been in cash since 28.Dec.2009, thus I do have a higher appetite for risk as of now. I have tight end of day stop set and will exit if the market turns against me. As of last evening I am invested 33% of my portfolio, will add on the longer side. Good Luck!!
ETF Watch List 08.Feb.2010

FXP
ZSL
SGG
EUO
BZQ
EDZ
EFU
SCO
FBT
XBI
I don't own anyone of them yet!! Will be nice to see a strong rebound today.
Even though the market has had a rebound this morning. Yesterdays market action as not good for the equities. I have not made any more buys since my buys on 04.Feb.2010. Watching very very very closely here today. We have go to have a strong close here today.
Last week, you made an excellent call that the market was facing selling exhaustion. Exactly that has what transpired; I bought QID last week, if you read my comments last week, to follow the market downtrend. And so far, I have not made a penny. And, your reason to go with QLD and TYH, due to selling exhaustion has proven to be an excellent call....well, at least in the short term.
gk_investor Thank you so much for your comment. You just made my day. It has been a hurricane task to remove emotions out of my trading/investing. I am not there yet, it is a work in progress. I am very sure I am going to wrong, quite a few times. But we have to learn to stop looking at what others are doing and do what is right. Good Luck!
Sorry for not posting yesterday, we got hit by a lot of snow in the North East! Even though I have entered the market, the action in the last two days has been discouraging. I would have liked to see a stronger close on 09.Feb.2010. The money that left, is not really coming back in. Yesterday 10.Feb.2010 was average Vol. With no inclination. If you have been on the sidelines, stay there.
