First off, you need to know what kind of trader you want to be. There are huge differences in what you need to learn based on what kind of trading your doing. If your doing pairs trading with an average holding period of a month, then you need to read a very different set of books compared to the trader who is scalping the futures market with an average holding period of 45 seconds. With that in mind, the first book I'd recommend is 1. Enhancing Trader Performance - Brett Steenbarger It may be the most important on this list because it will give you a solid process for improving your trading, from amateur, to competent, to expert.
