Yea, I'm always dreaming big.. Read the book 10x by Grant Cardone. It will make you realize that you and most people are thinking too small. 100k is peanuts. You have to go for the millions.
Hold on, so you admit that Western notions are better than Eastern notions even though you are from the East. This is getting interesting. Do you view yourself inferior because you were not born in America? @dozu888
the Western ideology of free enterprise and freedom of speech and human rights are viewed by many as the better way of life than a totalitarian way - well look at Hongkong right now, and there was the 6.4.89 inferior is not the right word... not born in America gave me a small handicap in the sense that the first 20 years of my life could have been different if I were born in America.. I came here with $100 and 2 suit cases and now I have achieved the highest academic degree possible - PhD, a great career (independent consulting in a great field), great family, and since this is a trading forum - I am in the infamous 1% - so it's difficult to feel 'inferior' after achieving a lot. and further proof I could have achieved more if my starting point were not so low - my kids were born here and at 18/15 they have achieved far more than I had at those ages.. Daughter is top 20 debater in the country (debate is an arms race of intelligence and financial resources lol), Son is a professional gamer (just made to the global finals so we are going to Korea in October.. yay!!). hope everything makes sense now.
They didn't get the word on the "Trump Train". ____________________________________________________ Ivanka Trump tweets ‘Chinese proverb’ that doesn’t actually exist Maybe she saw it on a fortune cookie? by Alex Linder June 12, 2018 in News Ahead of her father’s historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Tuesday, Ivanka Trump has tweeted out an important piece of wisdom from an ancient Chinese sage: “Those who say it can not be done, should not interrupt those doing it.” “Those who say it can not be done, should not interrupt those doing it.” -Chinese Proverb — Ivanka Trump (@IvankaTrump) June 11, 2018 However, despite Ivanka’s attribution, there is no evidence that this quote comes from China and it doesn’t match any Chinese proverb that we know of. Actually, the saying has been occasionally ascribed to the famous Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, though there’s no evidence of him ever having used it. The website Quote Investigator looked into this saying a few years ago and the earliest usage they could find was in 1903 in a Chicago periodical. Since then, the quote has gone through a number of variations and attributions. By 1962, it had been put behind the words “Confucius say” by another periodical. On the internet, there are a number of other instances of the quote being described as a Chinese proverb. Of course, the same can be said of anything which sounds relatively wise. "You can call any old shit a Chinese proverb on the internet." –Confucius https://t.co/lCcBwtKm5g — Brendan O'Kane (@bokane) June 11, 2018 What proverb is she referring to. Could it be 你行你上 不行别bb https://t.co/fSbnr5O7dD — Lulu Yilun Chen (@luluyilun) June 11, 2018 Maybe she just saw it on a fortune cookie?
sure - people love their kids.. and measured in relative terms - the resources and efforts they spent to raise me, is probably MORE than I am doing for my kids... e.g. when I was in college they sent me $4 a month (correct, $4 a month), while they were making $14/month total.. proportionally I am spending WAY less on my daughter's college now. and effort wise, the lack of medical technology means they had more hardship and worries whenever I got sick, while today I can just give them to the doctors to do a bunch of tests covered by insurance.. very different times..
