Too late for NZD/AUD?

NZD and AUD are offering 5+% interest right now. What do you guys think? Is it too late to park cash there?

I am thinking about parking cash there for a year.

  2. Too late for what? To get the 5%? Rates there will hang tough for a while yet, so you'll be fine.

The question is what cash you're going to park there. If you're parking dollars there, you'll have to convert to AUD or NZD in order to store it there. And at these multi decade high exchange rates, the risk is a dollar correction will wipe out any measly 5% gain you'll get with it.

Correct. That's what I mean too late. Will US dollar rebound or just stay flat or down? :)

There is a risk of dollar rebound but there is also a risk of dollar continue its decline. If it is 50-50 risk, that 5% yield is extra. NZD is at 7%. I am looking for low risk, short term way to park cash and not losing to inflation. US saving rate is not doing it. (Thanks Ben)
