The point oabout EC being anti slavery is absurd.

  2. In his defense, B1S2 is also absurd.

Of course, the article you cite has it exactly backwards. Had the Southern States been able to count their slaves as full persons, it would have given the Southern States tremendous power in shaping the nation and continuing slavery well beyond when it was finally abolished. The Electoral College was decidedly anti-Slavery in this regard. However, this is the type of claptrap that Idiot Dems feed their base in order to keep minorities voting for them even though they have never done one thing to help minorities.

  4. Slavery not counting as citizens has nothing to do with EC, that was the law dem dere plantation owners proudly supported and the North acquiesced to.

It had a lot to do with The EC in that it affected the number of electors and kept the Southern States from having too much power.

The Convention had unanimously accepted the principle that representation in the House of Representatives would be in proportion to the relative state populations. However, since slaves could not vote, leaders in slave states would thus have the benefit of increased representation in the House and the Electoral College

The proposal to count slaves by a three-fifths ratio was first proposed on June 11, and agreed to by nine states to two with only a brief debate.[8] It was debated at length between July 9 and 13, inclusive, when it was initially voted down by the members present at the Convention.[9][10] A few Southern delegates, seeing an opportunity, then proposed full representation for their slave population.[11][12] Seeing that the states could not remain united without some sort of compromise measure, the ratio of three fifths was brought back to the table and agreed to by eight states to two

As can easily be seen, the Electoral College representation was designed with anti-slavery in mind. Only a fool would not be able to see, or admit, that.

No. Because slave owners would have had more representation in both Congreff and The EC. ---Idiots and/or Ne'er do wells think otherwise.

You people really need a hobby. The Electoral College is the law of the land. Don't like it, push to change it. There is a process in which it can be changed.

Trump was elected with the law of the land. Regardless of the numbers of votes. Don't like it, make sure you vote in the next election and get your friends to.

Short of this, all of these arguments are a waste of time. Trump is the President until next January. He might be after that, too. We'll see.

Polls are pointless right now. Polls might be pointless, period.

And Tony Stark was AK Forty Seven before.

    All these are immutable truths.

Look, man, the electoral college is a vestige of a time gone by but it is still the law of the land and all presidential candidates are elected within it.

Trying to rewrite history or espouse some poorly thought out benefits of the EC does no one any good.
