I've use TD Seq, Combo and Prop Exaustion for years as part of my trading. There are over 30 TD Indicators that he offers. But they are just that... "Indicators". Not a foolproof system, not a magic formula. If anyone thinks that even exists in trading then they are in the wrong business. If you use them as a tool, they can be quiet powerful. Personally I use them in conjunction with other subjective tools such as volume and bollinger bands. Some may choose to use them with RSI or Stochastics or any of the hundreds of indicators that are out there. I use them on my bloomberg but if anyone has a code for e-signal would love to see it!
Heh, 10+ years of profitable trading (or so he claims) and nothing but a screen shot? You realize that any indicator (MACD, RSI, sun spots, rabbit reproduction patterns) can appear to "call" a top/bottom or great entry point...right? Just look at any chart and you'll eventually see some great setups. It's the ability to repeatedly make these calls that shows if an indicator is truly profitable and robust. Again, all this talk about "you have to use TD with other indicators" proves nothing. How do you know if TD is responsible for the accuracy or if it's the other indicators? Have you controlled for this? As for TD working with Jones, it's meaningless unless PTD has quantified how TD's work has helped him. Top pro athletes call in all sorts of trainers, nutritionists, sports psychologists, etc. Invariably, they end up working with a few crackpots as they experiment and try to tweak every aspect of their game. (Steven Seagall working with a couple of top mixed martial artists comes to mind.) Top fund managers are no different. I'm quite sure Robert Prechter, who has called for a huge, multi-year bear market since 1989, has had a bigger impact on PTD than Demark: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/13/business/13speculate.html?pagewanted=all Should we combine Prechter's wave analysis (short side only) with TD's stuff to make it even better?
SunTrader Just joined Eliteâ¦came upon your chart. Its similar to what I use.(attached) I believe its more accurate. If interested I can elaborate further. PS that formula appears on all cycles on all charts...exact
This. There is nothing out there that's perfect. From my experience, there is definitely something to DeMark. It's a pattern recognition study, so maybe it's becoming less useful as people know about it and can take advantage of it, sort of like chart patterns. I personally would not pay over 500 a month for his suite of indicators. There are a number of versions floating around out there that are probably pretty close, if not exact, to the cqg, bloomberg version.
Hasn't happened in the 3 decades since it was developed. Anyway as you can plainly here see most throw rocks at it.
Logorrhea, IMO, is a perfect description of his writing style as well... the only trading book I tried to read and just couldn't do it.
For those who believe. As well as those who don't who I'm sure will find nuggets to latch onto to say see even Buffett doesn't believe.
