I gather it means respect "what is happening now, and don't lock yourself into a fixed view simply because price is at a certain level", eg. price is down a great deal and has paused, you think SELL, basing your decision solely on the fact that price is down, could be that major support has been reached, and other large weight sector components aren't down as sharply as the index. MSFT, IBM down dragging the indices, but financials (banks) aren't (20% group weight spread among banks, brokers, reits, ins.). That sort of thing. Your best bet is to email him. Concur that the information Tony provides isn't helpful, and that his absence wouldn't be missed (I avoid his column). Doubt he would get the boot however. Minyanville rocks nonetheless.
I have been following Todd since the TSCM day. It's all about risk that u can handle when u are going 50 % bull or bear. He could be at that level of conviction but the important thing is can u ? especially using that info and lean long/short on the market. Are u ready to go 100% conviction level when he does or stop your position out and then the market would turn. So I think the important thing in following anyone is u need to know yourself first when u are wrong, what is your plan? Of course it's only one guy's view on the market and I dont think he's moving the market yet He's is gold to me and for 10 bucks a month, I could not find anything that good out there that would even come close. good trading,
Did it occur to any readers/members of Harrisons website how Harrison must regard those readers, given that his site is entitled "Minyanville"?
Respectfully, I think you are mistaken about the meaning. minyan \Min*yan"\, n. (Jewish Relig.) A quorum, or number necessary, for conducting public worship.
Maybe someone should set up a pay service with the sole intent of interpreting Minyanville's oblique comments into something that somebody can trade off from.
I see your point. Toddo has made it clear that the purpose is to edify and enlighten the trading masses. Most that go there do so to learn from his perspective. He's a smart creative guy, and is probably also very detail oriented.
