He has doubts about the sustainability of the rally, and is therefore keeping a position in far out of the money June index(?) puts.

I emailed him a few weeks ago about my desire for clarity and brevity in his writing. He responded that many people liked his critters, etc.

I think that if a poll were taken those critters would be in the hot dog vendors' portfolio.

  3. the odd writing style indicates uncertainty and ( perhaps) a desire to obfuscate the subject. potentially, it is a struggle to remain a guru despite losing the "touch".

Do you really think it's THAT great? He's been shorting since SP 810.

  6. Exactly... the guy is a broken record. What about listening to the market, going with the flow and the ST trend! Didn't he think the lower VIX was something to evaluate, and be concerend about with respect to his defined downside positions?!

But yet still today he says it will all end very badly, very "messy"!Well, one day he wil be right, claim to be a greater market maven.... and then raise his rates!

But he does have some good content to use in making decisions. And let's face it... fading him wouldn't have been too shabby. When he gets really bullish, back up the truck into shorts. :D

b.t.w. Bill Fleckenstein is now on his staff.

  7. I'm afraid tolerating the critters and his verbose writing style is the price for a pretty damn good site at a real bargain price.

He has never claimed to be a guru, and often makes the point that he is not writing an advice column. I wish he would give us more of an insight into what he is doing intraday, but I'm not complaining. Certainly it is vastly better than RealMoney now.

Does this mean that Fleck will be moving from RealMoney or are his articles going to be duplicated at both sites? I've been contemplating getting rid of my RealMoney subscription, but I want to read Fleck. If he is on Minyanville, I would definitely move there.

Here is what Toddo says in relation to Fleckenstein:
"Professor Bill Fleckenstein, hedge fund manager and widely followed short seller will teach a course in short selling."

He is having different "professors" teach about their specialties; this is further to his idea that his site is an educational experience (rather than a tout sheet).
