  1. Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Iraq -Goddamn
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

    And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
    Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
    Next stop is Iraq -Goddamn;
    And it's five, six, seven,
    Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
    Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

    Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Gotta go out and get those rag heads —
The only good Sunni is the one who's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.

    And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
    Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
    Next stop is Iraq -Goddamn;
    And it's five, six, seven,
    Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
    Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

    Huh!

Well, come on Wall Street, don't move slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go.
There's plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of the trade,
Just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on ol' Saddam.

    And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
    Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
    Next stop is Iraq -Goddamn.
    And it's five, six, seven,
    Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
    Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Iraq -Goddamn.
    Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.

    And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for ?
    Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
    Next stop is Iraq -Goddamn.
    And it's five, six, seven,
    Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
    Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Nice one PPP, good ole (updated) Country Joe. :)

  3. The four contract workers for the U.S.-led coalition were killed in a rebel ambush of their SUVs in Fallujah, a Sunni Triangle city about 35 miles west of Baghdad and scene of some of the worst violence on both sides of the conflict since the beginning of the American occupation a year ago.

    Todays lesson...

    Drive a Geo Metro.

  4. I saw there was some controversy inNorth Carolina about using some land for a Navy bombing range. I suggest Fallujah would be an excellent site. We continue to act like this is LA, not an occupied country.

SUCKS. (Just like the old Iraq, only in a different way.)

When we allow this sort of reaction and do not respond forcefully, they lose all respect for us. We should have hosed down that site with 50 cal machine gun fire. We would have sent a powerful message and likely killed those responsible, plus numerous future terrorists.

When dealing with this sort of thing, you have two choices, retreat or respond with overwhelming force. It is immoral to put our own forces at risk if we are not prepared to do what is necessary to defend them. It has been appallingly obvious since the occupation began that our leaders are not prepared to defend our forces. Bring them home then. That was the lesson of Vietnam and it is the lesson here.

  7. I don't understand why nonmilitary, non Arabs would go around Iraq with a bullseye in the middle of their foreheads. (SUVs, western clothes, ect..)

    "shock & awe" ... mission accomplished ?

  9. I posted an old war protest song, because I can't understand why a single American soldier has to die for those people. Absolutely hideous. FWIW my two children are both in the military.

We are good at conquering in battle, but not so good as policeman to people that have been warring with each other for centuries. People that cannot self-rule. People that can only be controlled by a brutal strongman dictator. People who hate us and everything we stand for.

Lets level Falluja and start over.
