Aha if by design. Then the Creator is investing change in DNA on a generation by generation basis, per species, per organism. Can you imagine what a managerial headache that would for just one species of bacterium? Well far be it for me to say that is a hell (oops) of a task, certainly human impossible, but if she is doing it, bravo!

Evolution is not theistically neutral if God is behind it, having planned it, initiated it, and then continues the process of maintaining it.

Perhaps dgabriel's understanding of the scientific position is evolving. I do know that the definition of evolution is devolving. At the current pace of backing away soon the definition of evolution will stand for nothing more than what is observable. I find this a great victory for rational thinking. After all it was just some thory thought up by a guy while observing some turtles.
