8-10% is high no matter what. Make a billion and pay 8%-10% and still that is high. Brokers make a killing for simply being a game host.

Start a brokerage, you will make a killing too. But I think you will get killed. Sound almost the same as the first sentence, but is a bit different. Did you ever trade live? Or papertrader? Or dreamer?
The commission is determined for and withdrawn depending on the conditions of the broker with which you are trading.
This is going to differ for each broker, and account type in broker. Personally, I pay roughly 2-3%(estimated) of all profits at end of year for commissions.
Logan, thanks for the reply. May I know what you buy and sell and what is your profit % to portfolio? 5%? 20%? 200%? That amount seems low for a successful or very successful trader given profits will not translate to living wages so I am curious what your percentage amounts are. I am also assuming you read that I am asking from Forex traders and not equities.
