  4. I see nothing scary about that. There is this thing called due diligence and then investing always involves considerable risk, so you should do it only with the money you can afford to lose. Stick to that and you will do fine. Investing or trading is not for everyone and that explains why 90% of people do so poorly at it. Index funds (or timing them) is the best option for most.
