Title Trading

Discussion in 'Prop Firms' started by stealth927, Dec 12, 2006.

  1. I believe that Swift no longer has an office in Ottawa. It closed last year in 2007.

Title has an operating office in Ottawa but it is very hard to get a hold of anyone as they are afraid of being shut down for not being a registered firm. I'm not saying that Title is bad - just that they trade stocks without the regulators knowledge.

I only worry that someday they will get shut down and any monies I might have made and/or deposited will be forfeit due to the fact that they have no insurance with the government.

Yikes. I guess that could explain why I waited 3 weeks just to get a reply back by email, and still waiting over a month for a second response from Title! Either that or we're all busy making money in these volatile markets :D . Will follow up with them after the holidays unless they get back sooner.

They're busy making money like everyone else. I know the guy running the Title office - he's legit - he's not running any scam unless somehow his office doesn't follow the rules that all other Title branches do. And that is not the case.

  4. I don't even feel like replying to his, but man it pisses me off when people don't know the facts and start producing assumptions.

First, Title trading in Ottawa is not hard to get a hold of at all. Like Szeven stated earlier in this thread:

"Call or Email HO, ask for David, he will fill you in on everything you need, its his job :p

if u don't know, HO stands for Head Office, and they will answer any questions u have or need about us being regulated cause i can tell you we are 100% compliant.

FIFO: If you have applied with us, we haven't replied to you earlier simply because we don't hire every Jo Blo off the street and we are very busy here and i can tell you not replying earlier simply means were busy, not because were scared of being shut down. Scared of being shut down..... good one! So you can PM me who you are and maybe someone from the office will get back to you.

Whoa. Didn't mean to piss anyone off, just my experience so far.
As for being shut down, not my concern or opinion. I know Title has a good reputation hence my interest. I don't think anyone who's met me has called me Jo(e) Blo(w), but you're entitled to your opinion. And yes, I did follow the proper channels via HO ("Head Office"). I think your anger is misdirected at me. I simply responded with my experience to the previous poster.

  6. Instead of starting a new thread...

Has anyone here worked at or heard about Title in Calgary? Or are all the offices fairly similar?

Not concerned with deposit/no deposit, more interested to know if they teach/mentor new traders...

  7. Hi guys, has anyone traded with North york toronto) Title trading? I am starting on Monday and from what I have heard Title trading is a much better place to be than Swift Trade (Markham/ Richmond Hill) Branch.
I am really excited to start my career there.

Yo D is that you? I ran into you at the casino months back, still with bright having an absolute ridiculous year currently trading in rob friesen's office.

If this is the guy who i think it is, then I can also vouch that ottawa title is run by a very honest and straight-forward trader. Send me a pm and we'll go out for beers when i'm back in town...
