been reading that the bootleg tinyxp creates a small, fast xp installation - same can be created legally with nlite and want to know if anyone is using such an installion what are the + / - benefits ? does it improve the performance of other programs ? does it improve the performance of a realtime charting/order entry program ?
I am using tinyXP version 9 with the bare install and it works well. My P4 with tinyXP renders web content faster than my Core 2 Extreme rig on bloated XP. I'll admit I don't fully trust that there isn't some keylogger buried in the OS. I use it for IB TWS with a dongle, but I wouldn't feel comfortable logging into banking. I am going to use nlite this weekend, but it's a pre-install app.
i'll look at tiny 06 to see what he's done but will do it with a legal MS xp and nLite but researching nlite and found this: http://www.graphixanstuff.com/Forum/index.php?showforum=68 only read a bit but his point is some groups of files are deleted in whole using nLite isn't the way to go since one or more files may be required elsewhere google: opimizing xp up.to.date xp sp2,3 fixes: http://xable.net/ internet 'acceleration': http://www.cfos.de/index2_e.htm what else ?
