Well, I don't know what Sykes' is stating publicly about the house, but he does not own it, and there are no recent transactions on that parcel. The tax records on that property go back to 2005. The same two brothers have owned it for the entire (public) tax record (2005 to current).
??? He has earned the right to brag, who is to say the other students didn't have the right capital, didn't pay attention or make a righteous effort.
But then 2 out of 8 not bad considering: Bruce Kovner: Over the years, I have tried to train perhaps thirty people, and only four or five of those have turned out to be good traders. Marty Schwartz: I hired four people, but nobody lasted. They all became intimidated. I tried to clone myself and it didn't work. I taught them all my methodologies, but learning the intellectual side is only part of it. You can't teach them your stomach. Victor Sperandeo: Over a five-year period, I trained thirty-eight people. Each of these people spent several months by my side while I taught them virtually everything I knew about the market. Out of these thirty-eight people, five made money. I'd have great respect for an educator who openly published stats like these, but not hard to understand why they don't: the average trading rookie wouldn't be impressed with a 15% success rate. Better to just parade your top two students, buy rent a mansion and stick a Lambo in the garage.
Let's post the address to your hovel. If you have the proof (you do, I provided it), then why post the address?
Understood. Define, "his." He's a "tenant in possession" for lawful use for the term of the lease. I personally don't see the big deal, but yeah, most people are going to assume he owns it. I mean, does this guy strike you as humble? Of course he's going to imply that he owns it.
I think Tim has an abrasive personality. I actually don't think he is purposely condescending. I always find it humorous and interesting when he or others try so hard to "live large". I have interacted with some very wealthy people with not the least hint of airs. I have said this before I have a friend of a friend who's net worth exceeds 25 million and won't pay for central air. Its interesting what people value.
