Tim Sykes

  1. Why do you consider that a lie? In all seriousness, a rental is yours under the law/contract.

If you have a mortgage on your house, are you lying if you don;t say-- the BANK owns my house?

So now you're saying there's no difference between a mortgage and a rental agreement. No wonder you and Sykes get along so well.

  3. Of course not-- dude you have a gonzo hate vibe going on-- check your head.

If you can show me where Tim says he "owns" the mansion, then I will agree with you.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with calling a property you rent, mine.

Pointing out an obvious character flaw isn't a "hate vibe". And referring to "my $22K rental" as "my $5 million mansion" is obvious deception.

If I destroy my mortgaged house, I don't go to jail if I pay the bank what I owe them. If I destroy my rental, I go to jail. Do you really not see the difference?

  5. Tim may have lots of character flaws, we all do. But calling your rental home yours certainly isn't one of them.

you have a really strange way to reason.... What do you call a leased car? Do you call it "my" car or do you say this is "the banks" car? You are obviously very jealous of Tim's success and try to justify your lack of success by saying stuff like this. really odd

    Jealous? You're delusional.

These guys put it extremely well:

Poor analogy. You take 100% of the financial risk (and reward) in a mortgaged home. One of the few advantages of renting is to limit mkt risk.

  8. Actually, the bank takes risks since you can BK and not pay--

But that's not the point. Kut was saying that Sykes calling his rental "mine" was akin to fraud. That's just ridiculous and idiotic and shows a deep issue he has with Sykes.

Remember, we are not talking about the value of what he sells, his choice of GF, or anything else other than calling a rental property "mine"--- Anyone who says that is wrong is out of their mind jealous or simply doesn't reason correctly.

C'mon, you risk the DP (5-30%) and going from a 750 to a 450 FICO is a risk if you BK. You made it "the point."

Sykes has stated that it's "my" (his) $5MM mansion. Let's forget the fact that the property is valued at something less than $3MM. I would think that 99% would be in agreement that that is a misrepresentation. I don't think anyone is jealous of the guy... by that logic we're all jealous of every A-list movie star and pro-player. Pick a better target of your jealousy... David Tepper? Who knows. At least the guy eats what he kills to the tune of $1-3B a year.

I personally don't care if he (Sykes) shits gold bars.

  10. Well, yeah, if its valued at less than 3mm and he claims it is 5 mm --that's an exaggeration and hyperbole-- but isn't all marketing?
