  1. Oops, Sorry, I was premature in my comment (my girlfriend made a similar observation last night). Reports of your departure are "exaggerated".:D

  2. Thanks. But remember, I make the majority of my money being a discretionary "flow" trader. Name any of the "conundrum" typicalities, and you bet I know them. I'll gladly discuss them with you.
Firstly, my systems are different from those 99% of people seem to use. It only takes me one look at wealth-lab.com, the TradeStation world and eSignalCentral to figure that one out.

Secondly, I would never trade the same kind of system with the same type of parameters for 4 years. Not even close. And let's face it, who in his right mind really would? It would cut your results to very little at best, and make you die at worst.

And third, there are ways to immediately tell whether your system is suffering any type of problems, also known as the "trading cycle test", which enable you to adapt immediately. If you want to know about this, once again, you're welcome to contact me, and I'll give you the parameters. They work also for discretionary systems.
I have talked to a few. Some of them are particularly good in developing powerful quantitative systems. And quantitative hedge funds only hire PhD's in the field, anyway. But I'm sure you know that already.
Why would anyone want to be? I am a slave to the market. I work for it, provide a service to it. That's why I get paid.
Like I said, I'm a largely discretionary trader. However, the subtle difference between you and me is that I understand most of two worlds (discretionary and mechanical trading), which vastly distinguishes me from you who, who only understands one world (discretionary trading). Would you agree that I have a wider horizon, and thus a synergistic advantage?

As for the "runs on the board", remember I sent you a private message long before this discussion started, stating how I look at things, and how much I expect in terms of returns. I assume that from what I shared with you, you would have deduced what I can actually do more than 99% of "those people", trading mostly discretionarily.

The reason I have openly told you that, is because you seem like a pretty serious authority on the subject, and wanted to add you to my small circle of buddies. However, I do not think it is good to think you're the best, because there's always better ones than you.

And remember, my offer (which I made in my initial PM) to post my trades to you live in chat, in exchange for your trades, still stands.

You never actually replied to that offer. I wonder why? Actually, I can guess why, because when it comes to live calls, I will totally own you. So far, no one has ever even come close to beating me. No one. And I have a circle of some fine traders I compete against, live and on a regular basis. I call the tops and bottoms all day long. They regularly accuse me of manipulating the market, or getting today's charts in the mail yesterday. And I don't use elliott wave or any of the stuff you use. Just charts, tape and depth, and a decent variety of verified statistical probability parameters. With all due respect, if I didn't think you were top-notch, I wouldn't even have invited you to this live chat in the first place. I only challenge the cream of the crop, if any. So you are a chosen one. If you want to have the live chat, we can do it on Yahoo next week. You are already on my buddy list.

Worshipful Mr Gilmore, in a month of live calls, I will pull your pants over your head, 80% of days. I will double your takes at least 50% of days.

If however, you can beat me, or even just approach my calls by any good margin, then I will bow to you, and announce my defeat here on ET.

May The Force be With You,
    The Scientist

P.S: Everybody else reading this, please ignore, as this challenge doesn't apply to you. It only applies to this one man, so save your breath. Cheers.

  3. You want a challenge so be it .

You send me your email and I will place you on mt TTW site for a couple of weeks and you can go for it =. You post your trades to my guys and I will do the same.

The only problem is I am taking a week off next Friday to go fishing but that won't change anything.

My guys can keep you honest when I am not there.

You might be good and that is possible but I am good and that is a fact so if you want to place yourself on a pedestal my room is where you can do it from.

The real contest is not how much money you can win or lose it is how you can call the entries and exits and can you be consistently profitable day in and day out.

    I look forward to it.

Just send me your email and I will set it up.

I have nothing to hide and when it is all over you can go back and report to these local imbeciles for whatever it is worth.

    :))))

  4. Join your chat? Yeah. Be fun to check it out. :)
So just 4 days, not 2 weeks? Not a problem. We all need some time off. :)

    Sounds great!

Umm... My measure will be how many % of the daily range I can take at any given day. I will measure you by the same. It's the most reliable way of measuring performance. "How you can call the entries and exits" seems like a pretty arbitrary kind of definition, but hey if you can define it... As for being consistently profitable day at any given day... You bet.

Question: Who's going to have the home advantage? Are we playing on my field (ER2) or your field (S&P)? Since you're an aged spoo veteran, you do at least stand a fair chance of beating me on the ES, so we might have to play there. :D
    Me too.
I will send it to you via PM.
Great stuff! Some bold words here, at least you replied and took the challenge, which already impresses me as it shows you are a man of honor.

If you show to be superior to me, I will bow to your proficiency and skill, and announce your superiority and amazing skills publicly. I might even consider joining your "guru cult" and learning from you. After all, we should always look for someone superior to look up to. I have not been blessed with such for a while now, and always eagerly looking for superiors. One way or another, if it happens, this will boost your credibility, and shut up everyone on this board. Which is always a good thing. :D

Should you, however, not win, then you can give me the lifetime freebie treatment on your chatroom, books, software etc. I am sure I'll still be able to learn something from it. Throw in the coveted hardcover collector's editions of your early books, and I'll be a happy camper with bootie. :D

    Best,
    S :)))

  5. You can contact me to set up your challenge from my contact details on Elite if you can't find them just go to Google Search and search WaveTrader2004 and that will take you to all my contacts.

But I am warning you I will be letting you into a select group of traders about 50 of them and if you don't conform after 2 weeks I will throw you out.

Nevertheless this might be good for both of us.

I have a system of posting charts very quickly within 1 minute or sometimes before a trade is going to be activated. All charts are time stamped so there can be no cheating.

I am still waiting for your reply.

  7. Scientist
It might be only four days this week but I will keep yo on there for 3 weeks if that 's what it takes to prove my point.

But you have to remember I only trade half a day a this time of year because of my time zone. I am trading ES only you can trade what you like.

Nevertheless you can get a chance to prove how good you are and I will show you what I do.

It's just business as usual for me so lets do it.

  8. What exactly do you mean by "conform"? :D

But fair enough, yeah that sounds fine to me. 50 traders? Jesus! Why would you even bother trading? Sure, we'll do that.
Absofundamentally! If you beat me, I will sure learn something, if I beat you, you will learn something, and in any case we will both learn something, anyway.

One minute? I can beat that most of the time, with live trade post in the chat. I have a trade posting script for IRC also, if you use IRC. I can use it, makes live posting very simple and visible. I don't know about posting charts, do you really need that? I mean, we're all looking at the same charts anyway - right? But whatever, we can discuss that later.
    I have already replied. :)

  9. To decide the prizes I will give you 2 full days of trading against me on the ES.

That's the best I can offer you in respect.

If I can't beat you in two days I will gladly give you a free ride in my room but if I beat you you can pay the $1800 to become a member.

I can't get much fairer than that.

  10. Prove what point? I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. But anyway...

Time zone? I trade the whole US day, and we both live in Australia, correct? :)
Or maybe you just trading amateur hour and bailing on pro hour? :) :) :)
It'll be fun for sure.
