I think that it actually does take real money, as the emotional factor can make a difference (at least for amateur traders). However, I would agree that competition is competition, and you can do a real-money comp just as much as a paper-trading comp - Although a paper trading comp is usually going to result in distorted end-day results. Also, don't tell me that I don't have the guts to say what I'm intending to do. Anyone who has watched my trades in Bryce's room last week, knows what I can do live. There is also plenty of live evidence on ET where I have proven what I can do in realtime - as shown in Baruch's thread etc. I certainly had no problems with it. I proved my point, and got the respect of many people. I no longer feel obliged to keep posting every trade I make, or boasting with it, particularly in someone else's room. I have proven my point, and all the people in the TTW room (over 50) know that, including Bryce. I am also planning to start a live chat room soon, in which I will probably be posting my trades and live thinking and reasoning all day long. Once this happens, your point will obviously truly lack validity. It takes a lot of courage to show all the moves you make, and I will have to be prepared to do that. I don't mind. I just don't feel like I need the "trading competition" buzz, that's all. All that notwithstanding, Lefty, it sounds like you're the one bailing out of this. OK Gilmore/Scientist: It is 27 minutes until markets open. I have posted my calls. I will be short on the second 5 min bar. I will have a 2.5 point stop loss. I will hold until either 1:30 or 2pm EST when I expect a late day reversal. That reversal will be characterized by a wide range bar. When I see that bar, I will be entering long on the next bar up. Thats about as clear as I can make it, also it is as public as it gets. Now it is 25 minutes until markets open. Perhaps you had your balls clipped off earlier in the day. What does it cost you to post your intentions? Tell you what, I will just wait here to see whether either of you have the balls to post.
