  1. I agree. Nothing kills a decent reputation quicker that displaying mood swings and lashing out indiscriminantly at every potential customer in sight. Characterizing detractors as "poofs" and suggesting they go fuck themselves might also impair a persons reputation. In fact, I think this thread might serve as a model of how in a short time, a person can go from being thought of as a skilled professional, to an emotionally unbalanced, out-of- control, drunken sod.

  2. Go and visit the CME and if they would ever let you in the pit area you will see it all for yourself.

The smartest operators dressed in their $5000 suits and silk shirts and Gucci shoes would piss on you just for a joke.

They would have your guts for garters.

You are such a wimp you not know what goes on in this business.

A guy dropped dead in the pit one day from a heart attack and they didn't find until the close.

When they did they found his pockets filled with out trades.

Now I am putting you back to the imbecile class.

  3. You pathetic old poser. Why would anyone reading your posts believe a word.

Once again you ridiculous sod, you have offered nothing but bluster. A few of the guys in my office have printed out your posts and had them framed. We actually have a wall where some of your particularly pithy comments are immortalized. Now when one of them makes a stupid mistake, I am likely to hear them laugh about "pulling a Gilmore".

I am absolutely crestfallen that I am once again placed in the "imbecile class". So that I can bear the disappointment, I will have to imagine that as you type your angry post, you are dressed in a lovely string bikini and heels. Ah yes, I am starting to feel much better now. Perhaps you are also wearing a lovely wide brimmed hat that ties just under your double chin, and since it is likely to be cold and windy, a gauzy cover-up around your shoulders. Yes, I am starting to smile now. In fact, I am feeling as though I cannot help but laugh. I believe that we have yet another post for our "wall of fame".

Good luck in the markets tomorrow sir (or should I say madam). I understand that Scientist gave you a good thrashing today. No worries though, tomorrow you will surely show him what you are made of. :p

  4. Why don't you get a job in the ladies llingerie you seem to know all about it and tell the poofters in your office how to dress.

Scientist is doing his best right now to impress me but I like to leave a bit of rein and let everyone establish their own territory.

When I know the ground they are standing on I will do what I have to to prove my point.

Anyway I take what you say in jest so I don't see any offence in it.

Infact my girlfriend is here ROFLPIHP about your Elite Trader site.

  5. I think it is wonderful that you display a sense of humor. Your girlfriend must be in stitches all the time. Perhaps she lends you outfits to wear? I suggest that you do not let her take photos however. The way relationships are today, she might be tempted to sell them on Ebay or perhaps here on ET? I for one would pay to see the bikini picture....:p

  8. Hey Cutten, nice to hear you got to enjoy some time off. And another brilliant post from you!

As for the GOOG swing, I referred to the one in the "How bad do you suck" losing contest - I couldn't help it and went long at what looked pretty toppish to me, then it dropped and in a week I had about 9% loss (unleveraged). I thought I'd mention it since you posted a pretty nice ES short there at the bottom of the trading range...

As for stops - Obviously, they MUST be tested and verified. Nobody would pick a stop parameter out of thin air, that's just stupid. So many people just pick some arbitrary stop with apparently no idea how the market historically deals with it.

Also, you use pretty much exactly the same parameters I use on ES, with ~4T for range scalps, 6T for for a defined move, and 2-3 pts for a trail.

So by the way, folks - for all the CRITICS on this thread who have been saying how stupid, impossible etc it is to even suggest using 6T stops on the ES... Here's a guy who uses 4-6T stops for the ES, and it is none lesser than Cutten. So what, folks, is your story gonna be now?

There's less than a handful of people on ET whose opinion I value very highly, and Cutten is one of them. If he agrees on this point, then I know someone has a point. But that's just me.

As for Cutten's last 3 paragraphs... That advice is worth its weight in platinum. Look, test, add a "safe zone" to your stop and then play it, with the words of the very last paragraph in mind. That's the only way to do it without BS.

    Cheers,

  9. Well anyone who uses a stop of that magnitude hasn't got any good reason to trade.

  10. I personally wouldn't use a stop like that either, not even for a swing. But I'm sure he knows what he's doing. He's probably particularly aggressive, but going for bigger gains. If the R:R justifies it, then it's all good I guess.
