I should probably note that eSignal tick bars are limited to the beta release, currently only allow a single day of data, and does not allow drawing tools. There are, of course, other platforms that offer this functionality.
I have my charts set to start counting ticks at 08:30. The first tick is in the first 100T bar. That's another thing I like about using tick bars. Since they're not based on a time frame such as 2, 3, 5 minute etc. I can start trading around noon if I want and still get a decent chart for the day. In other words, notice how much longer the 100T chart is compared to the 3min chart. It was so much longer, that I had to scrunch it all up to get it all on the screen. The longer the chart, the more trading opportunities...at least for me. It may not be your cup of tea.
