Tick chart for QQQQ's

I wonder what size ticks people using for active high volume shares.

I am using 512-tick for QQQQ but not sure if it's a good 1 minute chart measure.

today aapl, GOOG, RIMM, AMZN are trading almost flat which i think is a bad sign.. Nasdaq is up 38 pts and AAPL is up only $2. GOOG is up only $5..

 

how is that related to tick timing?

 

again checking what tick size people using for SPY and QQQQ
