As on today "NO" scored 50%. "May be" scored 25%. Vast majority of traders have not yet started realising that stock market speculation is a product of human psychology and that trading is purely a psychological game. This is the basic reason for huge failure rate in trading profession. Psychology is the fundamental skill of a professional trader. Traders EITHER adopt psychology and survive OR washout.
Meditation If you just sit and observe, you will see how restless your mind is. If you try to calm it, it only makes it worse, but over time it does calm, and when it does, there’s room to hear more subtle things – that’s when your intuition starts to blossom and you start to see things more clearly and be in the present more. Your mind just slows down, and you see a tremendous expanse in the moment. You see so much more than you could see before. It’s a discipline; you have to practice it. - Steve Jobs Sound Therapy For most people meditation is a tough or impossible thing. For them i would suggest a simple yet very effective sound therapy... Technique : Sing Hu (pronounced as Hue) for 20 minutes.
Many thanks for all these methods. The thing is, I am starting to think/belief, that these methods though very effective, have limits. There seems to be cases , where they reach a limit in their effectiveness. Any thoughts about that?
I agree There are two types of limits: 1. Short term limit Here when the practice becomes mechanical, routine, ritualistic, religious practice then the efficiency will come down. We need to apply creative ways to regain the momentum. Your creativity is the proof of your own interest in what you are involved in. Your interest defines your success. 2. Long term limit This may happen mostly after many years, may be after 12 years, a spiritual life cycle. But in case of Hu, that will never happen for most people. Hu will be a life time practice for most of us. Long term limit means "you have become that" and you need to find a new practice higher than the current practice.
Wow ! Voting for "NO" hits 55% mark ! Everything is everything in everything. True and profound. We are not here to know everything in everything. Right ? No one can know everything about one thing, forget about knowing everything in everything. So what are we doing in our life ? Each individual is interested in knowing what works for him and what does not work for him in his personal or professional life. What works for one person may or may not work for another person. "One man's food is another man's poison." We are interested in knowing specific areas of life not everything in life. Professionalism means "I know only this shit and nothing else". We know things in life through our perceptions (or view points or psychology). Again how an individual perceive things is unique from others. We all live in one Earth. Yet we live in our own perceived World. Each individual is an unique walking World. That is why psychology is not a science but an art. Psychology is NOTHING in everything on this Earth. Infact Earth does not care about our psychology. Does it? Psychology IS everything in everything that we pursue in our life. This understanding brings us more power and wisdom to create what we want in life. Those who deny will become victims of life. There are professional traders and there are victimised traders. Trading is an art called business psychology. We always have a choice. Vast majority choose ignorance over wisdom.
So unless it is worded in your context and unless it matches your view on the world it is wrong, interesting approach, fundamentally flawed but interesting. And Buffett relies on "just some numbers on the paper" so you've contradicted yourself. If it makes money it is a genuine approach, and there is every combination of everything, whether it is ethical is another matter.
I guess you missed this one... And i have put a question to support my view point... "There are many legends in the first two categories. Show me one legend in the 3rd and 4th category." Buffett or any genuine investors don't rely much on the numbers on the paper. BUffett's interviews reveals his approach. Note : I am craving to learn, not to prove any absolute truth, because there is none. Please post something with one of these intentions... 1. Share our view points (not attacking others view points). 2. Ask a question to learn. Attacking others view points is an offensive approach and may not help healthy discussions.
