There is an easy solution to this. Just put up some BLM signs in the yard and do a little protesting in front of the house before the meal. These things are known to be police repellent.

Limiting indoor gatherings during a pandemic is not tyrannical. It’s a proven method of mitigation since like the 6th century.

With all due respect, that is your opinion. There are many people, including myself, who do not agree with it at all.

As for a proven method, there are many proven methods that work that are not acceptable in a broad range of topics.

Heres where we differ, and where you’re likely to be offended: you’re relying on narcissism as the source of your position whereas I’m relying on experts and science.

I'm not offended at all. Like, at all. For me to be offended or upset at something you are writing on this anonymous message forum, I'd have to be affected by it. You have no more influence over my life than I do over yours. Which is to say zippo.

You can rely on experts and "science" all you wish. I rely, not on narcissism, but on the belief that you have no right to tell me what is better for me than what I know to be better for myself.

This is why we actually need more humanities in education. You live in an organized nation with a government - you, as a participant, have agreed to the social compact. This is not a pirate nation. If you wish to change the rule of law, there are elections for this but you should know your argument of I have no right blah blah blah isn’t anything more than a feeling. It absolutely means nothing and is kind of thuggish.

People need to study the constitution and the rule of law before they start passing judgment on whether these rules being made by governors are constitutional.

Some have been upheld some have been struck down.

See Sup. Ct justice Alito's recent comments... to get a feel of what some justices on the Sup Ct. may think...

To me, as time goes on... many of these measures need to be passed by the legislatures to have a chance of being Constitutional. At first governors may have a right to act quickly with temporary measures... but over time the legislature will have to pass laws based on facts and reality.

Mask and other pandemic mandates are not a Supreme Court issue. If you listened to the arguments in the Texas v California case a couple weeks back you’d know this.

I believe Wisconsin is the only state to have a mask mandate found unconstitutional by their state Supreme Court. You are correct in that a duly elected state legislature can correct this or vice versa in disallowing these types of mandates entirely. But this not in opposition to what I said previously, as I explained elections are the proper course.

I love reading Trump loving conservatives talking about separation of powers all of a sudden.

  10. Why is the left being so anti science about this? Do you lefties believe in evolution or not? Left to run it's course would this not be a pristine example of Darwinism? You want to let nature remain untouched until natural events get in the way of your political agenda.
