My U3011 ran really hot. But I just checked the power consumption vs the U3014 which is now running on about half the power. I guess the LED made a huge difference. http://www.dell.com/ed/business/p/dell-u3011/pd http://www.dell.com/ed/business/p/dell-u3014/pd
(nvm, you use three, lol). What brand mind if I ask? These new dells don't seem to get at all hot, I've checked mine and they seem to run cool.
3011 runs hot - not LED - they stayed with the prior technology supposedly because colour was better - hmmm
While I am here: I am running my U3011 via Displayport from NVS295. It seems it will not run with a single link DVI even at 1600x1200 - understand that it requires Dual link DVI to run at 2560 x 1600 (DVI/DisplayPort input sources). Dell says: 'In DVI, please use the dual-link DVI cable shipped with your monitor for maximum preset resolution of 2560 x 1600' but it does not say will not sun with single link DVI. Can anyone tell me for sure if cannot run with single link at 1600x1200. I am having the display port problem - if turn monitor off it will not come back from sleep unless you reboot the PC (obviously they tested display port thoroughly before specifying). Have tried all fixes posted on the net. Expensive as I have to leave it running overnight to pick up where I left off. Possible workaround is HDMI cable/adapter / 1920 x 1200 (HDMI input source), But would like to know of others can run single link DVI
1) short sighted so need low resolution not everything oi one high resolution 2) Use multiple programs to analyse so keep the mouse clicks down - once you have tunnel carpel you have it. 3) Scanning thousands of stocks across multiple markets.
to achieve max resolution, you need dual link for that monitor.... there is no if's or buts about it... not sure what the issue seems to be, but you should follow the vendor instructions.
