This thread http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=246550 discusses transaction taxes applicable in France as of August 1. It is currently in the Prop Firms section. Can it be moved to the 'stocks' section?
It seems to fit well in its current section. There's not a tax specific forum, and stocks I feel is for individual companies. But I'm willing to take other opinions nothing's set in stone.
I agree with you Joe. Yesterday when I saw the OP's post I reviewed the situation and didn't move the thread for a couple of reasons. One, like you said, Baron gave the Stocks Forum this description: Discuss specifc companies listed on the major exchanges. Two, Don started it in Prop Firms where he thought it belonged and would be seen by the (possibly) affected parties, so I trusted his judgment in that regard. Three, as you also mentioned, there's no tax specific forum so the startup location was as good as any.
