thoughts on commissions in futures

  1. Ref:CME mini index futures
You as a non-member charged per side $1.14 for exchange
fee, and your broker as Equity/Clearing Members pay $0.325
    to the exchange only.

And they are geting extra $0.50 per side on top of that, direct from you.

    Good idea, but ...

Every single order sent to the exchanges is tagged either as "Origin=Firm" or "Origin=Customer".

  4. hahaha I know :D

but $4.50 per contract seems excessive sometimes,

best to find a good excuse why we pay $45 commissions for a 10 lot to feel better :D

what kind of commish can you get at a futures prop firm for scalping?

lots of folks mentioned that retail futures trading doesn't work with scalping all day.

any groups to go to specifically?

How much capital do these firms/arcades require?

  8. Maybe people might say this is a stupid question, but how can we make sure that these discount brokers transmit a market order direct to the globex exchange.???

  9. I have spoken with these guys. Seems like a good outfit.

The problem you have with any pooled account like these llc's, is your money is definitely at risk if they don't have strict risk controls, so that you don't run into a Barings type disaster.

Of course, with futures your money is always at risk anyway (if fraud is involved, no FDIC type protection). I've already lost an account where the IB made off with funds. Personally, unless I was doing huge volume (scalping), and really knew the broker, I'd stick with the most reputable firms, non llc.

I may be wrong, but eminis S&P , NQ , and other products from cme.com all transact ONLY through globex.
Theres no two places like ARCA , ISLND,
    SMART etc.. like in stocks.

    globex is cme.com's network

I may be wrong though but thats how I understand it.
