I never heard of the 'Dead Internet theory' until yesterday. 99% of the content on Facebook is AI generated. Everyday I get solicited by a company offering me an industry report in my little niche. Prior to last year, I got only 2 solicitations over 12 years (and one was from a well known industry insider). Clearly all these new industry reports are AI generated.

Of course it was but when have you ever seen any operator in the wild-west of financial trading do the right thing and not do the profit maximizing thing? The few that come to mind were some guys in classic asset management in Boston. That was 20 years ago. Not sure what they are up to nowadays but they seemed to be dinosaurs even back then, that's when some senior guy told me about the importance of living out the concept of fiduciary duty during an internship. Will never forget that. The perhaps most honest guy I have ever met in my career within financial services. Most others are charlatans and shady operators that would sell their grandma for an additional cent in the pocket.
