Onto some GOOD shows, Ramsays kitchen nightmares etc, some seriously good entertainment there. I hated it at first, i figured he was just being a bastard for the sake of it, but having seen more episodes, you can really see where he's coming from, and there is little point mincing words in that industry..... Finally seeing the light Ac, I've been opining on Kitchen Nightmares for a while it's much realer and less showy than US cooking shows and it shows how F*ing hard it is to run a restaurant and you run into some crazy family situations to be sure... There's a new show coming up that is similar three COUPLES try to start a restaurant with the winning couple being given a 3 star Michelen planning team boost and funding! The husband wife teams are sure to kill each other.... Paradise Island had it's first show by the way, I missed it, hoping to catch a repeat before episode #2.... Those of you that don't get Showtime are getting a huge treat on Chan 2...Iguess due to the writers strike, DEXTER is coming! Sure it will lack all of the blood, the carving, the splatter and the INCREDIBLY SEXY British chick with the tight tank top....... settle down stoney.... what a babe... anyhoo it's fine TV viewing. I never got into Lost because it was being marketed as for geeks... but Survivor still rocks and it debuted last night, Big Brother on the way and the new cooking show I don't care if these writers come back or not until after next summer...~stoney
Well, i can only look out for these sort of things. I wont watch a movie i really want to see on video (er, dvd) because i know it will be on sooner or later free to air....... See, thats the bonus of this site, you can communicate with us folk in third world countries. I dont know what paradise island is, and "dexter" to me, is a matchmaking robot on a cheesy dating show, from the 80's no less. How great is that? The real issue of course, is a sexy british chic in a tank top, (any top)which quite frankly, i havent seen since the avengers. A great series, BTW, you owe it to yourself to see this series......crime fighting babe, inexplicably dressed in leather, generally, the underling of some bowler hatted umbrella carrying fop. "The avengers", dont knock it till you see the clobber, the style.

I'm pretty sure I did a bad thing to Emma Peel, a few times as a kid, she may have been my first, no second after Raquel Welch in that BC movies, then Emma, then that chick from The Deep... Talk about wet t shirts! Anyway Emma was tops in that skin tight black jumpsuit- I think that was her name, of course I know the Avengers what do you think Manhattan is a foreign island, or third world country? Which third world do you hail from Ac anyway, is it a parallel universe? Are you really nearby? Or are you really from a " Lost " like tropical place? I'm so pissed- way to much drinkin and druggin for me, I have passed out the last two Mondays and missed the first two episodes of Paradise Hotel, I cannot fill you in there but Thank goodness Big Brother house is back in effect on CBS,we all moved in last night, good crew/ casting should be a wild ride. And you have to watch Ninja Warrior if you can find it Ac,good Japanese obstacle course show. You do have cable, right? ~ stoney
Australia, its a bit like "lost".....nobody knows what the hell is going on, and the plot stinks. I can sure sympathise with overindulging in stuff that does you no good, im hoping to be sober enough to catch race around the world, family guy and ramsay in the US tonight. Cable? Heck no, i like the idea, but i cant help but feel its a rip off. Then again, i have only just got digital telly, on an 80cm screen, despite it being available since 2001- i have "issues" with technology. Man, screwing around with rabbit ears all that time, i didnt even know there WAS free to air digital broadcasts till 2 months ago, and im lovin it. Cricket tomorrow....huge telly.....digital reception....yeah, my home entertainment experience is slowly moving away from the stone age, and i love it.
I watched the first season of Lost, it was pretty good. Then they just kept piling on more and more mysteries, w/o ever resolving anything. How can they? The problem is they don't know if the show will last 3 yrs, 5 yrs, or 10 yrs. So how can the storyline have any kind of arc? How can you write a cohesive, sensible mystery if you don't know how long you have to keep it going? You may have a beginning and an end in mind, but that whole middle part, well, you just have to keep making stuff up as you go along until the network tells you you're about to be canceled and it's time to wrap it up. Ac you need a tech geek hook up sling shot off the computer to a mac tv. I don't know any of this stuff but it's possible or you need to get freakin satellite NEWS corp hello, Rupert I'm Australian Murdock Look Up Ac that's not a star! It's beaming lots of sex and stocks and your missing the waves man. The frequency waves... I don't care how Aboriginal you get on me... you can STILL RECEIVE PARADISE HOTEL AND BIG BROTHER AND SURVIVER AND RAMSEYS KITCHEN NIGHTMARES-- NEW ONE TONIGHT Ac, A FISH PLACE I THINK WITH A FORMER BOXER AND HIS PUGILISTIC WIFE! OH BABY.... Well since you are down under I understand better all these weird posting times.... ~ stoney
Just back to a trading "thought" - again, from the Traders Almanac. "I never buy at the bottom, and I always sell too soon." Baron Nathan Rothchild's success formula! Don
I have "issues" with newscorp, too......not that there arent other providers, just not ready for that leap yet. I'm waiting for discovery channel to guarantee all there doco's will be narrated by david attenborough, but i dont think it will happen-i love my doco's. Technology.....you know, i know all this stuff is possible, but i also heard its possible to install windows yourself, never seen any proof of it. Dont get me wrong, i like the idea, just the little i have seen of cable (its normally called pay-tv over here, due to the fact there are very few cables) may be-too much of a good thing, if thats possible. I guess i will remain a luddite, for now. As it stands, im waiting for the cricket to come on....but because its in perth, (one day internationals normally go for about 8 hours) it doesnt even start till 5pm!! Now, that's some commitment even for a serious armchair sports enthusiast.
Ac what happens when Digital TV comes to Australia? You will be screwed. I like a good docco too but more on war than nature. Military channel and old Nazi war plane stuff- love it. And retro doccs like American Family did you ever see that it was on tv in the US in the early 70's and had this family called the Luden's I think and they had a gay son LaNCE who was great and really the first gay character on tv acting, well, gay. And the mother with the groovy sunglasses and they get divorced and it's RIVETING. I once holed up with some white powder and just saw every episode in a row... it was on for a year I think... I like those follow the people for a long period stuff... 21, 31 & 41 I think is a series in that vein - The greatest little movie came out last year too maybe from Australia about three couples who try to put on the biggest show wedding for some magazine... a mock docc and those are the best!!!! Hello the Office on nbc... & Best In Show etc. Whatever that dude from Spinal tap turns out- that was another great one of course... I imagine you have a dvd player? Perhaps you can locate some stuff on VHS or Beta and do some transfers I'd like you to see a whole lot of stuff to bring you up to speed AND THEN WE can lower the cable through the window you have not built. I know where you are coming from Ac that twinkle in the sky may not be a satellite it may be a spy satellite in which case and in case of why don't you give me your exact Latitude and Longitude and I will Google Map you- stand on your roof and wave at exactly 12:00 noon after you give the coordinates. ~ stoney
