I was pretty focused thurs and fri, I have no opinion on next week, I haven't read anything to sway me one way or another. Granted sometimes I can form an opinion and be right or wrong, I can't even have an opinion. The market needs a new poke in the eye. it has been the same old news, and more and more of it.
You allow stuff you read to sway your opinion? My opinions don't even sway my opinion, which leads to an awfull lot of confusion. All i can say, is them rat's are smarter than i thought, it appears there were more of them than i thought, too. In fact, if all of them dumped their fake rolex's onboard, it may account for the ship sinking further and faster than may have been anticipated, to stretch a bad metaphor to breaking point. Definitely, a raw sienna few days, i roughly surmised the double base on the eod would hold, it sure didnt. This is panic selling i suspect, only issue is if its actually warranted. Well of course it is, people are entirely rational all the time, as everyone knows.
Could be a subtle buying op, eod indices this week. How's that for a non-commital rec. A "subtle" buy op? What the hell is that?
I know what a subtle buy op is. It's when you take pictures and say geez I took some great pictures and when you get them developed and look at the finished product you see some weren't as good as you originally thought. You got your red eye or background flaws, a shadow, a glare. It is a snapshot in a moment in time
I read a short anecdote some time ago, I wish I could remember where and how it went exactly but the jist of it went like this. Two friends met up on a trading floor. Bob was long wheat, his friend Tom knew this and said "Wheat is going up". "I went long, too". Together for a few minutes they watched the price and they both noticed a surge in selling. Tom said "I wonder who is selling?" Bob said "I am". "But why?" Bob said "We both can't be right."
You know, having looked at your efforts in the jokes thread, i have to wonder if maybe you shouldn't get out more. Or, perhaps, far, far, less. Sure, everyone knows carpenters are a funny lot, but only in their own masonic brethren way. I had heard that particularly bad joke before-from a carpenter, strangely enough, but seriously, where do you draw the line?
Thanks. It's Newtons 3rd Law. "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction" Personally, I explore the peaks, yet also the valleys. Somedays the pendulum swings faster and further than others. Regards.
Wow, so true-i thought the joke was in extrordinarily bad taste, but the fact remains, i want to know if my floors are level, same as anyone. In fact, my mentioning it at all is precisely that, an equal and opposite reaction. Which of course, brings me to the thought for the day, Hitchcock-a truly brilliant director, The birds, The Pit and the Pendulum, remarkable and disturbing films........ were these movies a newtonian expression, if so, what were they reacting to-and if they werent, what was the result, given an equal and opposite reaction? Or does it simply work out in the wash, given his work had no more precedent than hammer films, certainly it could not be argued hitchcock was the antecedent of modern slasher flicks, a genre i despise with passion, and good reason. Hmmm......
Roger Corman directed "Pit and the Pendulum", lad. Not really Hitch's style; not very subtle, you know? It creeped me out as a kid, but I suspect it would not hold up well on a viewing as an adult. H
What the-huh? Well, there goes my credibility, funny you should mention it-i would not have seen it, except we were forced to watch it, at school. Yes, at school. Had to write an essay about it. Sure, it creeped me out, but in a meaningful, distrurbing way-the very nature of torture, humanity, all sorts of fun stuff. Far different, to the blood soaked horrorfest nightmares that accompanied watching the shining, heres a tip to any parents-never, under any circumstances, have red curtains in your house. Just dont, ok? asking for trouble. Sure, ive seen such classics as "the hand" (a micheal caine entry level c grade movie)and "the birds" since, but its largely because the cinematography was so sparse, indeed, the acting so bad, that they were able to carry such a haunting presence, as nothing more than a movie. Of COURSE they wouldn't stand up now, and thats a shame i think-the genre itself has become, somehow, a diseased, sick, to-close-to life-parody, i find that a totally f*cked up aspect of people, and society, that crime drama's and slasher flick's (yes, including freddy krueger etc) should earn anything more than overwhelming condemnation.
