I agree with your overall point of veiw, i've read enough trail-hiking journals to suggest, grip, as such, is not a reasonable trade off for cleanablility. Think about it.......you got the scientifically tested most grippy boots on the planet, but it takes, statistically, an extra 40 minutes to clean a nice smear of c#ap out of them , be it dog, bear, deer, or other......screw that, odds are you will be stretching for water as it is, with what, precisely, will you be cleaning these things with? Just a question.
Raise your hand if you, at some point in your life, had a severe case of oneitis? I look back and laugh at myself for it.
Only just googled it, hadn't heard of it. Well, i can only say i never look back! I have binocular vision, technically, everything i look at is in an acute radius in front of me. Seems to me, the problem with oneitis, is that for you to be vastly incorrect/wrong etc, someone else must be right, which i find highly dubious when you know for a fact your surrounded by idiots. I prefer to think of it as "shades of grey"
Thought for the day; That Fidel, must be one tough sob, all i can say . Just won't, cant, will not relinqish power under any circumstances. Even if he's a bit dead, according to rumour......... I always admired this guy, not because his communism caused his people decades of shocking hardship, nor for his "victory" in the first place, nor for the fact he lasted so long, nor for any other reason, than sheer persistence. After all, it was , specifically, a "personal" us embargo against this tiny, supposedly unimportant country that kept it from any reasonable economic growth. Ok you right wing fruitloops, tell me, how has the decades long US economic embargo against cuba effected the US of A? What, your illegal cigars are.....more expensive?? Its a load of shit, castro was likely a bastard, a tyrant, worthy of a noose, same as half these third world joints, but it dont change the fact the US embargo was the critical factor in the equation. This guy, for so long now, gave 1-2 hour speeches (lectures, really) about how everything was going so well, if you were to add up all the minutes this guy spent in addresses to his nation, over his reign........goddamn-its not as if he tried to keep everyone disinformed, he had the means, his was practically a new tactic with television, just bore them to tears, until they couldnt stand it anymore, and shut it off, at risk of being arrested by the not so secret police. Not that anything is different , now, anywhere else.
Who want's to look at 50 presidential candidates? Thought id give this another plug, not only is it the craziest thing ive heard of (ok, there are crazier, like the guy who jumped off the eiffel tower in a parachute suit) but the journals are the funniest damn thing ive read in ages, read 'em start to finish yesterday they were that good. The goliath expedition, an ex paratrooper walking around the planet in unbroken footsteps, argentina to britain, no lifts, no boats. http://goliath.mail2web.com/Journals/ Looks like he made it across the bering straight, too, i think thats new since i last looked.
I don't get it. What does "unbroken footsteps" mean? Also, there is a picture of him boarding a plane in the "latest photos" section. http://goliath.mail2web.com/Photos/Latest/Lrg/40.jpg Caption reads "Leaving for Russia". Isn't this breaking footsteps? Pretty damn amazing though. He's been at it since '98. Wow!
