  1. pity, for a brief moment it seemed like he had a chance

Like the man said, "Many are called, but few are chosen."

Oh well, I thought it was a pretty good ad.

  2. "Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

back to topic, who out there is really "badmouthing success" anyways? i feel, if anything, there is a clear badmouthing of *excess* (at the expense of the rest.)

  5. Jimmy Carter?

Hey man, I don't blame any bad economy or unemployment on any President. I remember when Ronald Reagan came along, and even though at the time I was as poor as a church mouse, I liked him because he said, "Greed is Good"

I think Obama got off to a bad start when he went to Goldman and JP Morgan and made friends thinking they were "the economy." After that he thought it was a done deal.

It's really quite pathetic. I voted for him in 2008 because I thought it would be good for the country, blacks in particular, and the world in general, based on his race. And I haven't been a racist since 1970. But that can only go so far. It almost seemed like he thought money was something white people made and was none of his concern. And his job was to try to figure out how to get it and give it to poor people. And that involved some bad mouthing of the rich to justify the whole deal.

Not that it matters when it comes to GDP, or rates, or unemployment. The President is just a figure head. But under Reagan you felt if you were making it you were patriotic. Under Obama you feel like you are getting away with something.

When I say "under" I'm not under anybody, and that is the problem.

There is great power in coming "under", it takes a great unifier to inspire men to come under and support.

  6. I doubt there was any message like this from the Obama campaign four years ago....(about money)

"his job was to try to figure out how to get it and give it to poor people".

Anyone that understood this as the message most likely did not get the message at all.

There has ALWAYS (you know what to do) been income re-distribution in America under any political party.

Go back to the 40's/50's, when the government was giving away land "in order to build our country"...who got that land?, who was it given to??

    NOT Native-Americans - NOT African-Americans - Certainly NO-Minorities.

    C'est la vie!

  7. The history of the United States is so sickening, no wonder they don't teach it to children. I don't think I would want my kids to go to sleep each night with those kind of nightmares.

    But here we are

    Now what?

I wouldn't even know where to go to reclaim my rightful land

Land belongs to whoever can steal it

He says, "We are doing ok, but we need to do better." What is the "better " we need to do?

All I ever hear is, "The rich are not paying their fair share."

So after we eliminate the rich, then what?

They won't be happy until every yacht is scuttled and every private jet is grounded. That is there vision of a fair world.

If I can't have it, nobody can.

  10. Trump is a self-serving billionaire (nothing wrong with it), who is now getting older and like many of our elders is making ridiculous remarks about whatever they don't agree with. If you need more examples check one of my previous posts.

Obama is a public figure in politics and now the second-term president of the U.S. and probably the most powerful man in the world.

Me, I am just a guy posting on this site. So I really don't have to show anything of the sort to someone I do not know nor do I know anything about you, or probably care to know.

AND my remark was NOT directed at you. It was directed at 'oldtime' and he kindly responded and even apologized. Which I appreciate but was not necessary. You respond to things you find convenient and stay quiet and in hiding when caught making up stuff or going on diatribes.

What we do know is the result of the election.

And for those that I may have offended or annoyed, PLEASE (sorry for 'screaming'), read my original post. You will realize that it was not really about politics, but my main point was and continues to be that Interactive Broker, while a good platform, perhaps one of the better ones, could certainly make big improvements in simple things (see original post). Maybe as a second point, Mr. Peterffy should not be making those commercials as a leader of a publicly held company, nor assuming and comparing the U.S. to a 1930's Eastern European country.

Have to go my "elementary school students are waiting for their nitpicking teacher"; who by some weird logic likes to post in finance and investment related sites.......sure, right, of course that makes sense, totally logical.

In the most remote possibility that Mr. Peterffy reads this, please read my original post. That is my only concern. That is all I care. The rest is just fun that I had with people that decided to attack with no reason or need. And I always have loved a good fight, supported with fact, precision, correctness and as much sarcasm as I can dish out. I love it.

Happy trading and hope you are all successful!
