  1. I agree the use of the word Nazi is too lose...

But trump is creating a fear of a real threat.

trump has created a mistrust of the media which has allowed him to force people to believe his message alone and ignore fact checks (illegal immigrants eating cats and dogs for example - was proven untrue but people dont care about the truth). media is biased but his rhetoric has taken it to another level that evne when CNN/MSNBC etc ar ereporting facts it is disregarded and when FOX is stating opinion as facts it is treated as facts. This is a major step in authoritarian rule.

trump has created the belief that elections are not fair and any loss is 100% due to fraud and theft and successfully enraged enough people to storm the capitol. He is saying that he is the only real answer to what ails the system and he will tear down all the opposition tools that thwart him to make sure he has power.

trump is clearly a narcissist who craves attention and yes men. ANyone who opposed him was routinely fired or discredited to such an extent his supporters turned on them. Lets not forget he got his vice president to be the subject of Hang Him chants.

trump has stated how he will wipe out sections of the government compeltely (DoE, Justice, etc..) that dont align with his beliefs.

As a CEO of a private business trump is a God and can do anything he wants, like any other CEO. But as president he tried to rule the same way and forgets we have a constitution.

trump has created a scapegoat in immigrants to tell the people that they are the reason you cnanot afford groceries or get a good job or get health care. Same tactic Hitler used on the Jews during Germany's depression after WW1 reparations. People are so enraged they are taking it our on LEGAL immigrants. Again his ability to whip up his base in a fervor is how dictators start...via immense popularity.

trumo has convinced many, including ignorant here, that Kamala wants to change the U.S. into venezuela and cuba... which are dictators, not socialist entities. It is absurd but it works.

trump said he thinks the dems are an enemy to the state and got that message repeated and said military should be used. Cmon man.

So the GOP and Congress with GOP majority are not a threat or Nazis or facists... but trump himself is truly a threat in his vision to be a ruler without any challenge and full support to do anything he wants. His supporters will die for him and kill for his beliefs. This is early facism and only the Constitution really protects us but a quasi facist wannabee trump can still do damage.

Kamala and dems may piss off a lot of people with their proposals and such but their "threat" is thwarted within the system pretty much. SC overturned Roe.... Dems are not passing laws to allow children to be aborted when they are born (GOP claims),,,Dems are not claiming the GOP needs to be elimintaed, only trump..

So I have not had a problem with the GOP and supporting them in the past up until they lsot their balls and let trump take over and all cotowed to him (Christie, Cruz, Rubio, McConnell, Vance...dickless).

In sum, yes the dems throwing around Nazi is tiring but do not think facist is hyperbole. That is rich when trump's strategy is hyperbole all day long (immigrants are garbage etc..).

  2. I started to watch it, but got pulled away by some life stuff. I have heard good things about it. I'll have to start over with it.

I don't see Republicans blaming themselves if they lose, either. Particularly since they are still blaming "rigged election", etc.

  4. Personal accountability is not appealing these days...for any political movement. Ego, it is a bitch.

Fascism is when the business oligarchs, military/police forces combine forces under an authoratarian leader.

  6. This is exactly right. The question remains, who are the Authoritarians? One can argue that establishment government has been pretty heavy handed the past few years. Both sides have big business support.

I agree with much of what you said, but do you think things would be much different had Jeb Bush won in 2016? I don't. There are forces out their conspiring to make our country collapse from within. They got lucky when Trump won because he was so controversial from the day he rode the escalator down.

  9. And I'm off to the gym for some relief from the madness. Maybe I'll blast the heavy bag today. Always a great stress reliever.

We weren't like that but the party began to change when Trump infected our political party in his 3rd try as a Republican as he flip-flopped around among the different political parties in the United States.

It took him a while to learn that FEAR, BLAME, and ENTERTAINMENT are a very successful political tool to gain votes.

Political career Trump registered as a Republican in 1987; a member of the Independence Party, the New York state affiliate of the Reform Party, in 1999; a Democrat in 2001; a Republican in 2009; unaffiliated in 2011; and a Republican in 2012.

Yet, Trump dressing up as a garbage man in an orange reflector vest for Halloween...pure media stunt, and it's a perfect example of what America's politics has become. :banghead:

Trump's switching political parties during key points in his life implies there is something dysfunctional or perfidious about his political behavior. :(

If Trump lived in Europe, he would have flip-flopped among 15 different political parties. :D
