Back then a 1290 with decent grades gets you into some seriously good schools, definitely Berkeley, Michigan, maybe even some Ivy League, depending on your connections. Nowadays no chance unless you’re…. Never mind.
It didn't me. I wanted Purdue. "Fuck off Van." But you are 100% right... they must have changed the test or something because 1300 is a minimum for even a slacker these days.
I dropped out Senior yr and took GED and went to JC senior yr, then transferred after 2 yrs to UC. Didn’t have to take it.
Michigan in the same sentence with Berkeley and the Ivy League?!!! We weren't going for a jock admission. And my slice wouldn't have cut it anywhere anyway.
The 3-wood was always the cure. But unfortunately, it doesn't work on real courses. On muni's in the hood though, color me Jack.
Not crying poor-mouth.... but honestly I never had one back then. It was 3-9 plus a PW. And the sand.... omg.... there went the round. The worst. But I always made it up in putting and chipping.
Not Berkeley, and def not out of state. You'd need a 4.00 and 5s on multiple APs and extracurriculars with a 1300 and it would be 5 to 1 against. Michigan? No way. Zero. U of Illinois compsci avg SAT when I was in undergrad was 1540.
